Hello again-

Is it getting cold in here or is it just me? I detect a hint of anger in some of the previous posts, but maybe I am just being overly sensitive...

Anyone got any riding stories from today? (Just a feeble attempt to direct conversation elsewhere...)

Goose, I hope you didn't detect anger from me.

I ran some spoofs on my buddy Chris that some people got a little freaked over, but I took a chill pill. (Maybe that's why it's so cold in here...)

I haven't ridden since last monday. If anyone should be cranky, it's me!

Nah... it wasn't from you, Pete. I figured you were just playing games with Chris. I was referring to some of the more "obvious" signs of anger. I'll probably still sleep ok tonight though, in spite of the hostility...

Anyway... I didn't get to ride today either. Actually, I am still just trying to get into halfway decent shape for riding (haven't done any real riding yet). Having fun so far though...

Great. Having fun is what does it for me!

And, if you're game, riding will get you in shape all by itself. Just start slowly and go from there.

Bikes: Bikes: Giant hybrid, Trek 4500, Cannondale R800 Some commuting 20mi/day, mostly fitness riding - 20-50 mile rides

Cold? I'll tell you about cold...it was forcast to go down to -30C. last night, but we were lucky, it was only -28C. when I got up this morning, with a windchill of -36C.

I can't wait to start riding again, and have some real bike stuff to talk about!

I think this time of the year everyone, especially in the colder climates, get a bit of the winter blahs, and are just waiting for spring.

Of course then there are the real hardy souls like Mad Cat, Mike and others who ride and commute all winter, but I think they're the exceptions.

You know... I have always loved cold weather, but seeing those numbers on the previous post in print kind of makes me think that it could be possible to get too much of a good thing... (Minus- anything temperature wise is a bit overkill, even for me).

On the bright side, it has to warm up sometime............doesn't it?

Beautiful day in Perth, Western Australia.

It's a public holiday. Forecast high of 28 degrees celcius.

I was out early - did 60km - home just after 9:00am.

Lovely.

It is 35 degrees here. I should go riding, but yesterday I was doing wheelies, and I started going over backwards and I couldn't get my feet unclipped, so did a smash landing on my back and couldn't breathe for a little bit. My head hurts today, my mom says I probably gave myself a concussion.

Oof! Unless your mom is a physician I'd say that warrants a trip to a doctor to get checked out! Concussions are nothing to brush off!

I agree you ought to get it looked at. Head injuries sometimes get worse with time. Go to the doctor, and pick up some Krispy Kremes as a reward afterward.
