jazzy handlebar tape

I thought I'd already posted this, must have dreamt it....! A couple of years ago the trend seemed to be for handlebar tape to come in jazzy (swirly) two colours. I managed to get the last tape with a blue and white pattern for my Somec. I'd like to buy a black and blue tape to go on Carrera Virtuoso. I can find a few places on Ebay selling some double colours, but not what I want. Any ideas anyone? I'd prefer a UK company (hopefully for speed of delivery and price !) but will buy anywhere if I must.

Do you mean like this?

Wiggle has it. https://www.wiggle.co.uk/p/cycle/7/Bi...pe/5300002600/

Oh, sorry. I just noticed you wanted blue and black. Hmmm. You may have to settle for blue and white.

I've seen two different colors of tape woven together. IMO, it looks way classier than the splash tape. You could get some blue and black tape and do a diamond weave with them. Check out this website:

Thanks for the info both of you. I hadn't tried Wiggle - I thought I'd tried most - I'll check their site. But, I really do like the diamond pattern. I notice that the video doesn't show wrapping around the brakes.....I may practice to check if I can manage it before I pay cash and ruin it....!

Check this out, it doesn't look too bad... It would certainly take some practice though...

Wow, I really, really fancy trying this diamond pattern. I bought the bike last week, used, and the tape is actually pretty neat - but..... it would stand out. Here in the UK I've not seen this on a bike (thousands will now write in...) and I might be the first! If I do try it I'll definitely post a pic.
Thanks again.

Doh! I cocked it up big time. I knew it would be easier with a thin tape over a naked bar, but I've been used to a thick, padded bar for years. So I decided to leave the existing tape on, it was a thin tape and tightly bound. It was ripped at one side which is why I thought I'd cover it. I bought 2 rolls of cork tape which I like working with, it stretches easily so doesn't leave gaps - at least it didn't until I tried a diamond weave! The pattern is fairly easy to do but not with the cork tape - pretty obvious when you think about it. I couldn't get precise joins - the guy whose photos I followed did it really neatly and trying to do it my way was untidy at the points where the tapes crossed, which defeated the whole point. I'm really disapointed, I love the pattern but I'll have a think (that's a first!) about trying again with different tape - I hated the shellac covering in the photos, by the way.
So I used the black tape to cover the bars on its own, bike is now ready to ride and aparently we are to have more snow and cold here in the UK!
After spending over a week stripping, cleaning, greasing and rebuilding the bike I don't want to get it too dirty.... I know I'm sad.

Thanks for that, it is what I was after to start with. I've just put black tape on for the time being, if I decide not to try the diamond weave again I'll end up with the tape on that link.

if that's what you wanted, you should buy it now in case they discontinue it, you wont have trouble finding it when the time comes to swap out your tape. just a thought.
