shoes ...help.....i need help deciding...
im looking into getting a new shoe that is more street so you can walk around once you bike to where you are going.
I have narrowed it to one of these 2.
Pearl Izumi X-Alp WRX
or
Bontrager Street
I tried both on and i like both fits but could not come up with which i like better.
The pearls are laces only....
the bontrager are velcro only which seems better than laces if you ask me
the pearls are a bit narrower but should stretch after some use
the bontragers had the cool esoles footbeds which felt really good
the bons are pretty ugly and have 0 tread on the bottom
the pearls have decent tread like a hiking shoe
of the few reviews i found on the bons ...it seems like they are not quality and might fall apart?
The bons are 99
the pearls are 120
i cant decide
anyone have experience with either?

Look again, they have a steert shoe tread thats why they are under street shoes not mtb shoes. I have handled various pairs of the Bontrager shoes and them seem to be a qualiy made shoe, I may consider them when the Sidi's wear out.

Then again if the Bontragers are made poorly they could be a waste of $100.
Hey, I'm no good here I just do road shoes or New Balance runners and toe clips (and get really pissed when I forget to tuck my laces and the get caught in the chainring) so don't pay any attention to me.

Last spring I bought a pair of the Bontrager Race Mountain shoes. $10 less than the the Street model, and they have excellent walkability. I'm pleased so far with the durability as well.
