I'm not a married man but I doubt that biking could distract you sufficiently.

Sure glad this turned out to have something to do with cycling.

good grief man, why do you think? cuz I'm a married man hat doesn't have sex and I try to distract myself by training so much. I don't think it's working and so some decisions have to be made and some action has to be taken. that's why. OK?

I guess all you married guys still get it and I'm the exception. I was just checking.

Maybe you've been working too much on your bicycling performance and not enough on your "performance".

Not to wander COMPLETELY away from cycling, but have you tried addressing the, uh, root problem? Sounds like this may have gone beyond the "Hey, honey..." stage, but: counseling? Therapy? Divorce? Reason I ask is that I do a radio talk show, and one of my regular guests is a therapist. This topic came up recently. Her take was that if both partners are happy without sex, fine. But it doesn't sound like you are, and life is too damn short to spend it in a relationship with what seem to be serious fundamental differences.
To answer your question, maybe at my age (65) I could "distract" myself for awhile by cycling. Ten or 20 years ago, no way.

To the OP:

Seriously - if you are married and desire sex and are getting NONE EVER, that is a serious serious problem that needs professional (therapist or lawer) help.

If by "don't have sex" you mean "seldom have sex" then NO cycling is not an adaquate distracion... but it does make me better looknig and easier to get along with, so the more time I spend cycling the less I need to worry about it.

I wish you the best of luck. I hope your question was hypothetical. If it wasn't, you and your partner have a problem to solve.

Man, life isn't about sex. It's not about biking, and it's not about anything. Clear your mind of these distractions and focus on infinite nirvana.

Infinite Nirvana? Like this?

My wife actually wants more sex than I do, so I don't have this problem. Usually I don't mind, but sometimes I use the "I'm tired from riding" excuse if I don't have the energy.

Relax man. All people are different and a lot of the time you just need to talk to your wife about it (honestly talk about it - griping isn't talking) and see why the change has occured. She may be tired, or stressed out, or maybe doesn't feel comfortable with how other parts of the relationship are going.

Either way try to stay mellow about it. If you get frustrated or feel offended about it and start making passive aggressive comments about it, it will just get worse.

Don't you know the two words that ruin every married mans' sex life? "I do."

I admire your courage for bringing this up.
My wife is not as interested in sex as I am. Stuff is going on with her body because of menopause.
Could I get rid of her and find someone who is more interested in sex? Yes.
There is much more to our marriage than just sex. Sometimes I miss the wild times we used to have quite frequently. Now I'm grateful for the intimate times we have - not so frequently.
But for me it has little or nothing to do with my cycling. I've always been devoted to some kind of physical activity.

I think the idea is that some women seem interested in lots of sex prior to marriage - perhaps in order to get married or just from genuine want of it. Then the sex stops after marriage.

This is not true though - every study I've read says that on average a married person has more sex than a single person and also lives longer.
