Cool, how much did you get?
I tend to just let it go when outnumbered. I get honked/yelled at so much that I stopped wasting time worrying about it. People are just #@&$ sometimes.
But I will bust out some rage when someone almost kills me with their car. I feel they need to know.

Yeah, you're right. That advice and those coins wouldn't get you a cup of coffee around these parts.
Take note of their license plate number and notify the police immediately. Get to a safe location and call right away and don't waste time ranting on a forum.
Carry a small digital camera or use your cell phone cam with you if need be to take pics of the vehicle. One member here made as if he was taking pics of a harrassing vehicle (he couldn't get the phone's camera function to come on in time and pointed the phonecam at the vehicle) and this alone caused the occupants of the vehicle to leave him alone.
Use alternate routes on different days.
Carry a can of pepper spray. It works on the 2 legged animal as well as the 4 legged type and avoid confrontations.

If it had been me, and I had thought of it in time, I would have reached into my pocket and used whatever coins I had to throw them at the bodywork of the car, as hard as possible. I would have also noted the plate number, and got ready to bail where they couldn't catch me.

I've only ever had bottles and cans thrown at me, and while a person can take them in for a refund (if they don't smash), it would be so much easier to pick up and pocket coins ... sort of cuts out the middle man.
Smile and wave! Ask them to throw bills next time!!

perhaps they are encouraging and contributing to your new mountain bike fund? All that nonsense that happens on the road seems to just go away on the trails.
It's a shame that there are so many knuckleheads in the world, I know if that were to happen to me I would lose my s**t and likely have no method to correctly channel my anger. I would want those punks throats under my enraged thumbs. At the least I would have hoped to have gotten the license plate so that I could plot my vengeance. Bah, I need a hug or a sedative I s'pose.

carry a hammer with you, or just the head of one. Chuck it at their back windshield then duck off on another road and haul ass!

People are far too unpredictable these days to go provoking them. Unless they actually hurt you they're just a**holes. Beyond that they become prey.

The guys with the coins, if I could caught up with them I would have done something. BTW, I can't fight my way out a paper bag! We have to maintain our cool out there. There are azzholes all around us and they ain't going nowhere.
Slashing their tires would have been too good for them..

I usually pick up coins during my ride. Maybe they were thrown to the cyclist before me and let me pick them up. I don't mind stopping then picking it up. This season I think I have picked up over $1.00 so far which I keep
on my mini pannier mounted on the top tube. Keep them coming #$%holes. lol

Used to have a group of morons that sat behind me in class and would do that. I got something like $1.35 in one class. It didn't last too long. I think they went broke. I picked it up and got an ice cream cone. Any duffous is welcome to through money at me. I figure the jokes on them.
