I was looking for dynamo light sets for two of my bikes last month, and I couldn't find any in stores here in the San Francisco Bay Area. I was able to find them on eBay though, under Sporting Goods/Cycling/Universal Parts & Accessories/Lights. I paid around $15 each, plus shipping.

yeah--gen sets are not common in the usa anymore. most sell battery powered lights or rechargable systems. i have a hid system on my mountain bike. an awesome set, but you have to recharge it after use. i love to self generate my own power. the gen sets work good for me. you can get some cheap sets here & there for around what you paid for the one you bought, but you have to watch out. you get what you pay for. the cheap sets are unregulated & have dim output at low speeds & blow out bulbs at high speed. i want to get a shimano dynohub. i hear the drag is very low, & i like the fact that they come on automatically if you go with that light sensitive switch. the funny thing is that i have 2 bottle dynamos on my bike now & when both engaged, i barely feel any resistance, & the older sets are supposed to have more resistance than the newer sets especially the b&m dynamos because they have ball bearings like a dynohub.
