It just makes you more aware just how beatifully shaped and defined your legs are as a direct result from riding your bike. I shave at least two times per week sometimes three, it is easier and faster when there is stuble.

Unless you have incredibly hairy legs, the massage reason is bunk IMHO. Use a massage oil and there is no issue with hair. Out of every 40 guys I see with shaved legs, about 1 looks better for it.

Does anyone remember the Epilady hair remover? My wife bought me one of these gizmos in the late 80s that jerked the hair out by its roots and was supposed to reduce the need for shaving so often. The thing had been invented in Israel and all I can say is they must make women pretty damn tough over there because it brought tears to my eyes!

Without hair evaporation of sweat is much more effective... thus keeping legs cool.

The Reynolds number of a typical leg at typical speeds is around 70 000 to 100 000.
That would make separation a major source of drag. Hair could quite possibly act as turbulators, reducing separation and thus reducing drag.
