I saw some back in the 70s, maybe early 80s. They were/are a sporting goods conglomerate. Had bicycles, bowling gear, and for a while I believe Harley Davidson. Bikes didn't have a good reputation.

I saw one at a rummage sale once for $5. I picked it up and it felt like it was 40 lbs. I didn't buy it.

You see AMF Roadmasters in the Little 500 race in Breaking Away. Which isn't to say that they were high quality bikes.
