You speak the truth, brother! To clarify, the only reason I'd go to ATX is to fetch my tattoo guy. If he's already gone zombie, I would just put a leash on him and make like Michonne from the Walking Dead comics (cuz I'd so rock the zombie apocalypse as a sexy samurai zombie killer in a cowboy hat and bikini, rawr! )

But what kind of bikes are the zombies riding? It stands to reason that at least some of the zombies were cyclists during their lives. What bikes would they choose?

Bikes: 2010 Kona Dr. Dew, Moose Bicycle XXL (fat bike), Yuba Mundo V3

Assuming "normal" zombies, a Yuba Mundo.

- Durable
- Wide tires for easy travel outside of major population areas
- Stable
- Massive carry capacity for supplies, weapons, and maybe an extra survivor or two
- Ordinary high-tensile steel: Easy to weld modifications (a pintle mount for a machine, for instance)
- Momentum, if you need to crash through a few zombies obstructing your way.

The biggest disadvantages are that is doesn't accelerate very quickly, and that extra-long chain will require some ingenuity to replace.

If you are an American, you make no changes to your lifestyle at all. And, you pretend the zombies are poor people who brought it on themselves.

the tank of all bikes- mattel stallion from the 1960s. carries 2 up (you can shoot and scoot), springs fore and aft, has a plate over the bb for stuff, chunky tires, chrome plated (zombies hate shiny).

Bikes: Lectric Xpedition.

I haven't read the entire thread, so I apologize is this has been already mentioned, but the stead of choice is a recumbent. Zombies do not attack bent riders. The reasons for this are unclear, but some speculate that the zombies give bent riders professional courtesy.

As such, the bent tandem trike is the ultimate force multiplier. Stable, fairly fast on flat terrain, and the rider in the back can man the 30 cal while the captain pedals his ass off.

The reason zombies don't attack recumbent riders is because of the large bellies most of them sport... The Z's are afraid they'll be eaten first!
