Houston

I've noticed there seems to be several people in here from houston or in the houston area. Just wondering how many houstonians are out there, maybe sometime we could all get together and ride... I dunno i'm new to the cyclin thing, so that may not be a common forum thing, but for car stereo's we get together and listen to each others stereo's and talk cars all the time. So its my instinct to try it here

NWCC JOINING GHORBA AND BIKE LANE TO REPAIR EROSION DAMAGE AT HUNTSVILLE
STATE PARK
Get an early start on next years Paydirt Points! Support your local
trails - give back to the trails that we regularly ride and make them
better!
GHORBA, NWCC, and Bike Lane are putting together a multi-group trail work
plan for getting the Huntsville trails back in shape for the fall race and
just for general trail use. Serious structural repairs need to be made due
to erosion and flooding during Tropical Storm Alison. Initial impressions
are that rolling grade dips and diversions need to be installed, and
sediment traps on some of the downhills are also needed.
PLANNING/EVALUATION DAY:
GHORBA’s April Ride and Trail Work Planning : Huntsville State Park
Saturday, April 27th at 9:00 am. We will ride and look at areas that need to
be repaired. We need experienced trail build/repair volunteers to attend
to help identify and evaluate projects to be completed on the workday. All
interested in the ride and/or the planning are welcome!
PROPOSED WORKDAY/CAMPING:
MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND....work Saturday morning, ride or relax, shower, camp,
hangout, get up, ride, etc. We’re going to ask that people leave the branch
cutters at home and work only on the structural issues....trail stewards
from each club at different sites with 4 or 5 people helping at each site.
This will be a very organized workday with specific repairs/reroutes to be
accomplished.
Please let me know via email (lgibson3@houston.rr.com) if you are interested
in participating in the planning, workday or both. We’ll need to make
reservations very soon if we want to camp that weekend. Memorial weekend
is one of the busiest camping weekends at the state parks. Please indicate
your interest/availability for the workday so that we can solidify the
arrangements.

ALSO, REMEMBER THIS LAST LOCAL CHANCE FOR PAYDIRT POINTS FOR THIS YEARS
SPRING SERIES:
GHORBA will host a MEMORIAL PARK, PAYDIRT WORK PARTY Saturday APRIL 13TH
9:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. This will be your fourth and final chance to earn
PAYDIRT POINTS for the 2002 Spring Race Series in the park. Remember the
deadline for Paydirt is May 1st 2002. We will be moving a lot of dirt around
so PLEASE bring a Wheel Barrel is you can get hold of one. Also, bring
shovels...see you Saturday...

please excuse duplicate messages if you're on more than one of my
distribution lists...
