Degreaser
 
After you put the degreaser on and wipe the chain, can you put the greaser on right away, or should I wait awhile before I apply the greaser?

I run my chain through a cleaning machine until it is throughly saturated with degreaser. Then I run the chain through a shop rag until it no longer leaves any residue, meaning until the chain is grime free. Then I run the chain a bit to let the degreaser dry out. Then I lub it up really well. Hope this helps.

I think the important thing is that you have to remove the degreaser AND the grime from the chain before oiling it. Otherwise the degreaser will dissolve the oil, or you'll just be putting dirty gritty oil on your chain.

Exactly, you need to wash the degreaser off completely or else it will destroy the new oil AND you won't have gotten rid of the grit and muck.
