fork length

hi, presently i m upgrading my bike, a giant expressions cr mo, i wanted to change the fork with an ahead one, so i ordered a surly cross check one, now i am noticing that my fork is about 2cm longer than the surly. will this affect heandling, geometry etc?

I doubt that 0.8" would make a significant difference in handling. The only way to tell for sure is to do it, though.
