Does this help?

Hello all,
I commute to work on my bike and when I ride home it is 90's 100's.
So I bought this to see if it will help. Found it at walmart in the workout exercise section. I got the ones that look like the red bandanna.

I was thinking that the beads would soak up the sweat.

I read the information and it said the crystals would soak up 200 times their weight in water . . . in a humid climate that means added weight to your head because of the reduced evaporation and in a low humidity weather it may work . . . then again how much weight is added before it starts cooling

Bandanna or just a cotton towel I will use a microfiber towel in some cases

Better than a cotton bandana are the various Coolmax/wicking poly skull caps.
