First Road Bike, Need Help!

I'm very new to road bikes and i'm looking to buy a bike but the problem is I only have $200~300 to spend.

I was considering just getting a CCM Presto as I can get one for $150. Is it worth it?

I just want to go fast, haha.

Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks!

Does it really have grip shifters on a road bike? Looked at the bike on a search. Seems to not have best reviews but for that price it wont. Id only buy it if its something to get you by till you get something else later cause I dont think you will be happy with it.

With your budget, I would check craigslist for a quality used bike..

Find a used bike that fits. It may take some patience for the right bike to show up on Craigslist, but you can hopefully find a decent old bike from a quality maker in that price range. Something like an old Trek.

New bikes in that low a price range are often so cheaply outfitted that they're not worth buying.

Find out what frame size you require, then begin searching on Craigslist.
Check out the Classic and Vintage subforum for ideas and tips on selecting a good used bike.
