Anyone here use a Road ID Bracelet ?

After my crash last week, I thought it might be a good idea. When I ordered, they gave me a coupon that I could pass along to my friends. Here's the coupon number:

Coupon Number: ThanksGary17666702

The coupon is good for $1 off any Road ID order placed by 08/30/2012. To order, simply go to RoadID.com or click the link below:

https://www.RoadID.com/?CID=ThanksGary17666702

Hey, a dollar is a dollar

And no, I don't get anything out of this.

Thanks for reminding me to order this. I ride alone and go out of town a lot to find interesting rides. Even though I carry my driver's license with me, they wouldn't know who to contact to find out medical info or to notify in case of emergency.

Also thanks for the $1 discount!

Yes, I use one. I wear it every time I ride, and every time I run.

I have the dogtag version with the electronic data storage plan- I put it on every morning, no matter what I am doing. It has a login and PIN on it that allows First Responders to get all of my vital info- including my medical conditions and the meds I take, who to contact, my doctor's contact info, and even my insurance.

Thanks! I had one for my long and lonely suburban runs back when I lived in NJ but then when I moved to the city I got lazy about spending money on getting a new engraving. This is good motivation to get my info updated!

Have the Road ID dog tag, use it most of the time. I don't carry my wallet on group rides so it works for me.

This is a good idea. I've never worried about it until lately, but I'm in my 60s now and have a couple of health issues that, while not serious, could complicate treatment if I crash. If it saves two or three minutes in the ER, it could matter.

I have the standard bracelet. I wear it everyday. As a T2 diabetic, it seems like pretty good insurance should something ever happen to me.

I Never leave home without it.

Also wear one of my military dog tags and one Jagermeister dog tag.

If it is serious, they can pull my military one.

If it's not too serious, they know what kind of shot will get me home.

This thread got me thinking:

Bad guys + my house key + my home address on a form of carried ID while cycling = bad news.

I do have one, the "slimline"...or something like that. I like it, I have the electronic set-up as well. I think they're a pretty good idea.

I simply have ID on me in a bike jersey. Usually carry a small pouch with my debit card, some money and ID.

I wear mine on every ride. It has my name, a bit very basic medical info and lists my emergency contacts' first names and their relationship to me of my Wife, Daughter and Son.

I've worn one for four years and just recently came across this article in my local news rag. It was eye opening and not in a warm fuzzy way. If you use a Road ID or similar product, it may be worth the time and effort to visit the local First Responders and make sure they know what exactly it is you're wearing and how to utilize it.

Plain ID dog tags can be found online for ten bucks or less. Perfectly adequate for those of us lucky enough to have no significant medical issues.
I wear mine 24/7 on a chain around my neck. Name, address, home phone, ICE phone.

This of course assumes your phone survives the emergency
