Hey Allister,

you missed my previous post :-)

I would be the town gardener. Somebody has to grow the food and I really LOVE fresh tomatoes, jalapenos, corn, etc. In August when the zuchinni is producing like mad we could pave our roads with them :-)
So when we aren't riding our zuchinni-paved roads we'll be eating the fruits and veggies grown in my garden. I'll probably raise chickens and iguanas also so we can have eggs and meat.

I'll be weather forecaster. If I plan a ride you'll know it will rain or blow a gale...

I'd reside at The Temple of the Wheel, wherein I would perform christenings over newly-manufactured/purchased/swapped machines, and I would be Keeper of the Umpteenth Laws (added as I see fit or as the populace demands ("Though Shalt Hold Thy Line", "Thou Shalt Not Covet Thy Neighbor's Componentry", Thou Shalt Not Wear Lycra Until Thee Has Lost At Least 25 Pounds -- Cast Away Thine Doughnut!", yada yada yada).

It's possible this last would make me a probable candidate for getting voted off.

Actually I did see it, but I conveniently ignored it for the sake of humour. I hope you understand.

It's been ages since I had a good iguana burger, so I hope they grow fast.

Maybe in deference to the vegetarians on the island, we should start a tradition that you can only eat meat that you catch and kill yourself.

I'd set up a public tv network and document all epic rides [road and MTB] and the feasting with the vegetarians and broadcast it to inform everyone of all the fun things to do around the island. just in case they run out of thing to do.

Excellent suggestion. We'll get our protein and roughage in one go.

You'll have to pedal fast to catch me but if you do there's plenty to go around.

I'm glad I'll be a part timer on this utopian island wasteland. Cannibalism doesn't really appeal to me; so I guess I'll eat my meals elsewhere. Unless, of course, you can manage to bake them into all those muffins and donuts.

How do you think I feel? Do you think anyone's going to need an undertaker anymore? Maybe I should be a undertaker/chef, just to offer the complete service.

Geez, how quickly the discussion deteriorates into killing vegetarians and cannibalism........

My motto is "Live and Let Live"...... Anyway, I would have two jobs on our island utopia....

Journalist.....dig this headline:
"Canibals and Vegans vie for Island Bike Lacrosse Trophy"
(as an aside, I know the difference between a vegetarian and a vegan, vegan fit better in the headline - it's journalist license!!!)

I would make jewelry - all you gearheads will need to buy your wives and/or girlfriends something for those special occasions, and you would all be beating down my door for my stunning masterpieces.

Also, if any of you are single, and would be interested in dating, I'd be willing to give it a go......

we'd buy em more gear, and it wouldn't tick em off otherwise
they wouldn't be on the island.
I suggest that the jewelery be made with recycled bike parts.

Marty,

Tsk, Tsk about not sharing utopia with the loves of your lives!

Anyway Marty, I definately believe in the mantra "Recycle, Reuse, Reduce" - and I have some cool ideas about what can be done with a broken rear derailleur and other various pieces parts of crashed bikes. There is also some pretty cool stuff that can be done with sand!

well, seems you've got just about everything covered... I could sub as the animal caretaker when needed.
I have always wanted to be an actress so that I could be and do all that I want. So if a nurse was needed... voila! A comedienne...voila! A stripper... well maybe not:
Save some blueberry muffins for my cat!
