Need to know Handlebar dimensions.
I need to know Handlebar dimensions for the ends. I have come to find out that most flat style bars are 22.2mm and most drop style bars are 23.8mm.
What I need to know now is what is the most common Inside Diameter of the handlebars. This would be based off the thickness of material. Is it ok to think that the thickest material will in 99% of the time be the cheapest grade metals and thus mean the cheapest grade metals / handlebars will have the smallest ID? With that said that would lead to the highest quality material / handlebars being some of the thinnest in size leaving for a larger ID?
Can I assume the above statement with most Flat/drop style bars. It does not need to be 100% correct but if the majority fit in line with it that works for me.
With that point being made, what are some of the thickest metals / smallest COMMON Internal Diameters of handlebars? Does anyone Know? I have a MTB with a Flat bar and the ID is 15mm. Anyone wanna give input on what theirs is? My bike is a Diamondback Trace Sport.
Thanks for any help you can give.

Buy a proper Caliper and measure!
Is this a double post ,asking the same thing all over the place?

What are you trying to accomplish? Why do you need to know? I wouldn't bet on the cheapest handlebars having the smallest ID because they will probably be made from steel rather than aluminum. Like the other poster mentioned, sometimes one measurement is worth 1,000 assumptions.

I know what the ID of my handlebars are. 15mm is the ID of the bike that I have, but I am sure that this is not the case with everyone else. I am looking to obtain this information to help aid in some R&D that I am doing.
In general I need to know the smallest COMMON ID of handlebars across the 2 main different styles. Im sure there are some really nice jump / impact bars out there that are really thick and do not have much of a ID to speak of but I am more or less looking for the General Manufactured bike / popular aftermarket handlebar setups.
Thanks

so, 22.2 - 15 = a wall thickness of 3.6mm.. bring your caliper to the bike shops and measure their inventory.
do your own research ..
