now if there ever was a valid complaint about shipping, it should be for UPS ground... they've been consistently slow... i bought 2 items from 2 vendors in new york that was shipped on the 3rd... right now, on the 8th, their tracking system shows both packages still in Illinois... now that's bad.

anyways, i love fed ex, usps priority, and nashbar

First off I chose GROUND shipping...which was supposed to be FEDEX GROUND, but they can at their option ship USPS...and USPS provides tracking as I am about to show you in this picture below and own you.

Ha Ha! And should anyone really argue with a guy who has a quick link to "GunBroker.com" on his browser?!?! (see his screen shot post)

Does this thread remind anyone else of the rubber shim fiasco?

Don't get me started with how bad SuperNoGo screwed up my last (and I do mean last) order.

Raiyn 02-09-05 12:12 AM

I find it absolutly hilarious how everone seems to have all these problems with ordering stuff online. I've had ONE issue in the last 5 years and even that was minor. I've ordered from all the usual suspects Nashbar, Performance, SuperGo (all the same company) , Pricepoint, Alfred E. Bike, specialized.com etc etc. I don't have half the issues that you folks seem to. I just don't get it

there`s only one of you and a lot of everyone else so statistically speaking it is not surprising that eveyone else has a lot more ordering issues than you do :p

True enough but it's still funny

Stealthman_1 02-09-05 01:53 AM

Ha Ha! Obviously you've never used a USPS tracking number, it's about as effective as the sticker in my door window that says my house is electronically protected. :D

What makes you say ground shipping (actually "Standard Shipping/Handling") meant FedEx Ground? Nothing on the Nashbar shipping page says that. And I agree with Stealthman_1, USPS tracking numbers don't give you much info anyway (at least for non-express items).

I was annoyed with delays in my first couple of standard shipping orders. But I eventually figured out it was just part of ordering online. If you need something within two weeks, never, ever use standard shipping.

I'd believe that except I've had nothing but success ordering too. If you check, MOST people who responded here have nothing but good things to say. So the odds are still stacked in favor of "everyone else".

the shipping option was "ground" not standard or any other... "ground" the other choices... Fedex 2 day air, Fedex overnight....I vented because I REALLY wanted my shoes. I just have to realize that if I want anything from them in a matter of less than a week that I will need to order 2 day. Kinda crappy though since Fedex, or "oops" ground will only take 2 days :-\

supreemo1 02-09-05 06:42 PM

Man it's been a while since I watched that show-I keep missing it. That was required viewing in college.

I agree with your complaints to some extent. Sometimes it seems like mail order businesses (not just Nashbar) intentionally punish you for using standard shipping. "That's standard shipping, we can let it sit for a week." As this thread progressed, I think we all could hear the sound of your expectations crashing to the ground.

No reputable mail order company lets your order sit around. They all work hard to ship as quickly as possible. your order is just one of thousands so you have to keep up. Assuming everything is in stock, I almost always see orders ship with one business day. Most mail order places do not seem to fulfill orders on weekends though, so if you place you order Friday evening add two days to the delivery time because it's not going out until Monday.

dobber 02-10-05 01:39 PM

But it took them a whole 4 buisness days to get him his order.

Or did it ship first thing on the 1st. Was USPS standing in the hallway waiting? Did you get it in the morning, afternoon or evening?

Point is, you're whining about something so insignificant in the scheme of life.
