I had time to watch about a third of it, not a bad video at all. (I just feel sorry for someone who goes after, and gets, a bike they'll ride for LIFE. SO much out there to experience, so much VARIETY...!)

This video made the rounds a year or two ago. It was even on TV, PBS or something, wasn't it? Anyway, there is one bike I'll ride for life. That'd be whichever is the last one I buy before I die. I certainly hope the one I'm riding now isn't it as I expect to get a new bike in a year or two and expect to live at least that long.

Despite being hand-made, the frame looks just like any other cookie-cutter frame; and all of the components will wear out and be replaced over time. So, really the only difference between this bike and any other bike he could have bought - even a used one(!) is that making a video about it gave him an excuse to travel zillions of miles and spend way too much money.

Not impressed.
