Max tire width on a Trek Pilot frame?

Can anyone tell me the maximum width tire that can be used on a Trek Pilot 2.1?
I'd like to replace my frame with a frame that would allow for wider tires, fenders and a rear rack, and was wondering if the pilot would fit the bill.
Thanks

Google search yielded a 2010 model on Bikepedia. That came with 700x25's. My guess, depending on how wide you actually want to go*, is play it safe and go with a CX or Touring frame.

*Some people think 28 is wide, while others think 32 is too skinny.

Thanks. 28 would probably work for most of my riding, but I'd love to try 32. May have to take a closer look at CX bikes.
