Stupid Cagers, I got hit!
I was in traffic today and i had made my way over to the turn lane, I took off and started pedalling with the flow of traffic, as usual traffic pulled away from me and here comes a SUV around my right side, then he comes back into the lane and swiped me sent me to the ground, I immediately looked back to see what was coming at me, fortunately all cars had stopped so I wasn't going to get ran over. The SUV had gotten too far away by this point to see it's tags. Argh. My back wheel had the spokes mangled, my shoulder hit the ground pretty hard, it popped, and as usual my head slammed the pavement. Anyways, I got back onto my bike since I had a helmet on the only thing hurting was my elbow which had some skin ripped off. I pushed throught intersection, pulled over, checked myself over and rode to work. Stupid freakin' cagers! argh! That is all!

I don't even know if the SUV knows they hit me...they sure didn't stop...everyone else stopped, but I hopped back onto my cycle before they could really even get out of their car, I didn't want to hold up traffic. The shoulder is still sore from where I fell on it 2 days ago, then I land on it again...it's sore but it's moveable...

I am not going to the doc...I'm doing OK and will survive, Docs cost money. As far as the plates...I was too worried with the cars already in motion that hadn't passed me versus the ones that already had.

That sucks - I hope you heal quickly! I think that type of accident is more common than people probably know - I've gotten nailed that way twice, but never badly enough to get hurt (I saw it coming both times and braked heavily, so I was barely barely clipped by the bumpers). I think they just don't realize how fast we are, and with the ENORMOUS blind spots in those things, they have no idea they haven't gotten past us. Just another reason why serious driver training should be required for SUVs...

No joke...I own a Yukon...it's been at the shop, I'm not willing it put a motor in it. Anyways...the few times I drove it I was like "hey can I fit through here" haha.

I don't think packing would work when he's under the front bumper of a car.
Glad he's ok though. See if the state has some kind of no fault insurance law thingy.

A cager is a somewhat derogatory term for a driver. Cager = person in the rolling cage. Get it?

Glad to her you're relatively OK....
I rode in Galveston when it started getting nice several Springs ago and the cagers were jerks down there....
I get 'em back with my big and slow RV though :-)

I'm real sorry to hear that. I swear drivers in Tennessee are BAD about dealing with cyclists, either through ignorance or downright meanness.

Glad you're ok. I hope your bike at least left a scratch or two on the SUV.
