What Lock to Get?
We know there is or was a problem with the Krytonite lock. I have a new Trek road bike and need to buy a good lock. So given all the problems, what is recommended? I do not commute to school or work so won't be locking it up in a parking lot. I'm not sure where I will be locking up the bike but definitely want to have one for those special times.
Thanks in advance.

If you live in a big city, or park on a college campus, you should consider the Kryptonite New York U-lock or the OnGuard Brute U-lock. If you only park in "Happy Suburban Village", any Kryptonite U-lock with the new flat key, or any OnGuard U-lock would be sufficient. Place the U-lock on the rear wheel just behind the seat tube, to protect both the rear wheel and the frame.
You should also consider a cable lock for the front wheel if you use a quick release instead of a bolt-on skewer.
