Lance "hinting" around at something?
I came across a quote somewhere on one of the news sites about Lance saying that he was
going to make some kind of announcement at the Tour of Georgia. Has anyone else heard this?
Some people are speculating it might be an early retirement announcement, but I always thought
he was intending to race at least 2 years with the Discovery Channel team. what's the latest scoop
or is this all gossip at this point - like the thing about he and Cheryl having a "falling-out"?

Where did you hear him say that he might stop after this year's tour? I missed that one somehow.
I would have thought he would want to go after a few more races or maybe the hour record.

The wife told me that she was watching the OLN channel last night and Armstrong said he was gonna do another Tour Du France.
I originally heard that 2004 was his last one. Anyone else hear same?

I also heard something about him stopping when his contract with the Discovery Channel is up. I also read that he wants to spend more time with his family.

'Ol Lance has been watching too much "Blue collar TV" and asked me to fill in for him. I told him I was an old Schwinn guy who recently picked up a Raleigh R600 just last year and a Specialized Stumpy for touring he said "Jeez, hand me another Lone Star Beer and STFU"
So it looks like I'm gonna be in the TDF... I'm a little nervous, I'll admit it, but me and the Stumpy are gonna hit it hard.

Besides, if he just continues winning the TdF he's not doing the sport any good. It's time to let some fresh blood have a go at it.

A couple years ago I remember that Lance was supposedly going to do two more - one to tie the record for wins and another to break it. Not too long after that was done in 2004, I started hearing that he was going to do another one - this came about the same time, I think, that Discovery took over sponsorship. I kinda figured having him was part of the deal in getting them to take over from the US Post Office.
I can't remember where I heard the last bit of info, but it was very recent - that the contract with Discovery required that he ride one more tour, but maybe no more after the 2005 tour.
Seems something was also said about an upcoming announcement too. No idea if it is about the tour though.
