What's with all the new, flashing, intrusive advertising on Bike Forums lately? Is it just going to get worse as time goes on?

Advertisers keep us alive and kickin'. There's a way around it - here - that not only gets rid of the ads, but helps support the site so less ads would be necessary.

When I get tired of one type of ad, I go on websites of stuff I'd like to see ads for. That works for a couple months, then I have to do it again. Gaming Google Analytics is a fun game!

This really should be down in User Assistance*, but while I'm here...

My understanding is that there are rules as to what type of ads our sponsors can use. However, things get a bit complicated when the non-sponsor ads (via Google?) are served up- the tech team does tend to remove them ASAP when they are alerted to their presence. Whenever you encounter a bad ad, take a screenshot and either post to https://www.bikeforums.net/forum-sugg...banner-ad.html or even start a new thread in User Assistance (as others have done with similar complaints to yours).

*There are reps from the tech team/IB (the site owners) that comes on at least once a week to scan the User Assistance forum for any issues that haven't been reported to the Staff. Sometimes there are issues (like user settings) that a Mod/Admin can handle, other times we have to "kick it upstairs"- but we really do need more info than just "bad ad" (we can't see the ads ourselves).

I'll subscribe. It's my fault that I haven't, yet.
