Saddle Boils
Anyone gone through this? I have tried different chamoise cream, riding dry, different bibs, saddles etc. Seems to get them even on short rides.

As a true boil is an infection of hair follicles, you need to see a doctor. You may have some sort of persistent infection that requires medical care.

No..
Ive gotten good at washing my crotch with surgeon's scrub, and changing to clean dry bike shorts daily & a topical dab of neosporin on flare ups
live and ride where the temperature is moderate and stopped trying to do externally impressive milage goals, entirely, 30 years ago.
It's the 60 & 90 day Tours with modest daily totals, that adds up.

when I started riding I got them but not not anymore. not sure why really but I tried a few things. shift your bike shorts during rides, get up out of the saddle from time to time, after rides soak for 20 min in hot bath w a lot of epsom salt and a bath soap of your choice. I like Dr Teal's Eucalytptus Spearmint bath soap and it can be found at walmart, the christmas tree shop chain, some grocery stores and some drug stores. like berner, I usually shower and wash with a washcloth before rides. a little manscpaing might help, not shaving but reducing the hair length with an adjustable hair trimmer

Yes, but you might need to wash with a product like Hibitane to thoroughly clean the area.

Also, if you only get these when you ride, check your overall bicycle fit.
Do you get them on one side but not the other? Check your saddle height and placement ... even angling your saddle slightly off in one direction or the other might help.
It might also help to try another saddle .... what kind of saddle do you currently have?

I get them occasionally. The only sure way to get rid is to stay off the saddle (meaning for me, running-yuk- or literally only riding standing up)for at least a couple weeks, maybe more. Kinda sucks the big one.

+1 Check your fit and consider a different saddle. I had a few challenges with both my fit and saddle and after two or three visits to the bike shop I've been able to not only eliminate the soreness chafing issues, I've found a new level of overall comfort on the bile which translates into speed.

Also consider a thrombosed vein at work (you gotta go and have a good look). Different than the follicle: same grief, different treatment approach.
I got two, and not yet wanting to exercise the surgical option and its associated downtime, I just deal with it. Lidex is my friend.
No saddle/shorts/hygiene can fix this.
Regarding getting the "clean," one afflicted domestic pro says he wipes pre&post ride with straight isopropyl. Says getting dry like that helps. It does make sense.
