Tire Question
Hi,
A ways back at mile 95 of a century I was riding, my tire blew out and gave me a flat! The SAG vehicle came along and changed my tire with a kind of tire that can fold up very compactly. Looking great for a spare tire to stuff in a small bag. He told me the kind/type of tire, but for the life of me I cannot remember now.
Does anybody know, or can recommend, a tire along these lines that I could use as a carry-along spare?
Thanks a bunch!

They're called folding bead tires, or just folding tires.

I should add that needing a spare tire is quite unusual, and that typically all that's needed to change a flat is a new inner tube. In some rare cases, as for a cut or gash in a tire, a boot, such as a dollar bill, will contain and protect the tube enough to get home.

I guess sometimes the tires may have bead material listed, too, so just know that Kevlar beads are folding, whereas wire beads are not.
