Do we have a vomit thread?
A thread for stories where you rode so hard, you puked, fainted, rolled into a cornfield and passed out...etc.
If so, please direct me.
If not, post 'em up!
Note: This op has not yet experienced riding into nothingness yet.
But eagerly awaits his day in court !

Anybody that rides or exercises so hard that they puke and pass out is an idiot. You gain absolutely nothing from doing that, and you actually harming yourself. Not healthy to vomit and loose important body fluid during exercise. I have my days when I train hard but never came close to vomiting. " No pain no gain" should not be taken to the extreme.

Pass. I get to deal with that kind of stuff at work. Don't need it here.

I doubt people go out to do it on purpose. But I'm sure there are many who in the interests of just a little more, find out a little is too much.
But apparently they don't frequent these parts. Oh well.

I've felt nauseous on occasion after an intense effort when I wasn't as fit as I should be. I think if you're fit the chances of vomiting due to intense effort are slim. Not sure I've ever seen a pro cyclist hurl after a race.

I suppose it doesn't make any sense these days. So much information about the body is available and every grain of rice is counted....no one probably even goes near that point ever any more.

apocryphal sobriquet
Several years ago I had to bail from work due to a burgeoning migraine and as I was riding home I saw a guy riding towards me, swerving around a bit, and right as we were about to pass each other he turns his head and blows chunks all over the path. Somehow I was able to hold it together for the rest of the ride home but I can still hear that thick, wet, chunky splatter as the unreasonable quantity of vomit hit the concrete.

I haven't actually hurled, but I've come pretty close. One particularly memorable time was years ago when I was trying out these exercise machines that had no weights, springs or anything, just viscous resistance. I got so pumped on those things I thought my skin would burst.

I have not. However, I know someone who has. We were doing an organized ride, and she was not nearly in shape enough to do it. She signed up for the shortest distance they offered, which was 39 miles. They had extra loops at the lunch stop, so while she did the 39 mile option, I could tack on a longer distance while she hung out. I have no idea what she ate while I was out biking. But I came back and picked her up at the lunch stop, so we could continue on. I think the combination of being out of shape, and being left by unlimited food, and then having to start biking again in the afternoon did not sit well with this person. At her mile 30, she pulled over and let fly.
It was horrible. And I felt guilty for talking her into riding it.
We still call that corner out in the county by her name.

The reason I, uh, brought this up, is that I heard stories from a couple of my group members who had done training sessions that were so intense it caused them to (insert preferred vernacular here).
The closest I have come is feeling dizzy after a ride. But that seemed to stem from not cooling down or riding down after the zoom.

Yes...one time on vacation I ate some bad roast beef. I spent the next day recovering, but the following day I thought I would be okay for a ride. About a third of the way into it I didn't feel so good. Fortunately, I found a public restroom were I did some unkind things to the toilet. I felt so much better afterwards and had a pleasant ride otherwise.

I've sprinted until my vision was going gray around the edges, and I've ridden so hard I couldn't get up off the bike afterwards, but I've never barfed from it.

rode into the city one day and stupidly stopped at dunkin donuts for coffee and a cookie. about a mile toward home I burped and out came coffee and cookie, not all of it, but enough to turn my head and spit it out. I disgusted myself and hence forth vowed off coffee and cookie at rest stops
for a passing out story, early in my commuting career on a wicked hot sunny day about 2/3d's the way home on 17 miles I took a break and laid down in the shade of a tree. it was so nice, I passed out for 10 min. woke up surprised and embarrassed and looked around like I was guilty of something, shook it off and got going again. man that was nice, too bad it wasn't at home.

I've done some exercises at the gym recommended by Men's Health magazine called the Circuit of Death. It consists of 10 squats with the maximum weights you can do, then 10 deadlifts with the maximum weights you can do then 10 dips and 10 pullups and repeat.
After doing four circuits, I felt like throwing up.

I threw up on a 400k a couple years ago. I had gotten behind in my calorie intake, and by the time I had eaten enough to compensate, my stomach was sloshing and I ralphed at convenience store controle. One of my compatriots asked if I felt better now. I did, and so we hit the road again.
