Throw the bike on the light rail or any city bus and get off at a pre determined destination. There is a bike path system that is vast and can easily researched online. Uptown-downtown-lakes-parks the path systems will take you all over the cities/state on continuous trails never having to leave a dedicated bike path. Some city streets are dedicated for bicycles although shared with cars, bikes have the right of way. There ar maps

Take the light rail from the Mall of America to Minnehaha Falls/Vetrans Home. Head east to the river and ride north to the Greenway and ride west to Lake Calhoun. Ride south and connect left to Lake Harriet and circle around back to Lake Calhoun and ride around the west side of the Lake heading north to Lake of the Isles and circle it returning to the Greenway to head west again to the Lake of the Isles route to downtown past the Twins Stadium to the Missiippii river again. Head south to Minnehaha Falls again and grab the light rail back to the mall of America.
That should be about 30 miles and a lot of smiles!

Find a map and this will be clear for you.
