East Dundee, IL. Been futzing with bicycles since 1959. Have ridden in all the Great Lake states, Ontario and eastern provinces, plus France. I ride the FRT (just down the hill from my house)to my job in Elgin, when I'm not in the field.
My wife complains that there is no room in the garage for her car because of my bikes. I see no problem.

clarkston, MI, great spot for cycling...if you want a city-like ride, go south into pontiac and surrounding suburbs, if you want a quiet, country ride, go north to Hadley & Metamora or west to Davisburg! Plenty of everything in michigan...

Hi all. I'm in Columbus, Ohio, in the Grandview area. I'm just getting back into riding, after being lazy for way too long. I've been a member of BF for years, but hadn't thought of introducing myself in the regional forums.

I finally got serious about getting a road bike--always wanted one but at the same time mountain biking's always been my first passion and I could never justify the expense of a road bike (yes that's my lame excuse for procrastinating all these years). Late this summer, however, I started seriously shopping the used market and as of the week before Halloween I snagged a one-owner Klein Aura in great shape that fit me fairly well.
I'll be the one riding slowly around Ozaukee County, Wisconsin--this kind of riding is new to me and I'm still scoping out routes.

Hi all, Bellevue, Oh........ lot's of flat roads and open fields every so often a small grade. There is a rail trail in the area that is pretty cool. Not too many roads with good berms . Decent area though.

Plano, Illinois here........I mostly ride the mountain bike at Saw Wee Kee in Oswego but also ride Knoch Knolls in Naperville and Palos, as well as the Fox River Trail, Gilman Trail, Great Western Trail and the Praire Path. I live a stones throw from Silver Springs State Park. A couple of local bicycle clubs do their annual rides right through my neighborhood.

Good ol Mishawaka, Indiana here, been off line and off bike for about 4 months and hate it! Took a job delivering campers around the country. Thought i could drag my mtb with me everywhere and ride all the trails i could find, but it seems there are too many time restraints, BUT... I did ride the short trail just outside Las Vegas on my trek MTB. That was pretty different than northern Indiana mud. Pretty enjoyable out there, wicked awesome scenery! Lookin forward to Tour De Cure in Indy again this year!

Hey Rodjs
I did some riding out in Vegas a couple of years ago. Bootleg Canyon in Boulder City is the real deal.........stay away from the Black Trail unless you've got full body armour and big huevos. Also did some of the Cottonwood Trails out of Blue Diamond and commuted to work for a couple of weeks. There's just something about riding a bike down the strip at 5am.

Bolingbrook, Illinois!
There are some quiet residential roads around here, one or two quiet 'country' like roads, Naperville's system, a decent system of bike trails, and then a pretty good forest preserve just north. I've also ridden down about 15-20 miles into Joliet, into Naperville, into Darien, into Lemont, Lockport, Crest Hill, Romeoville....I think that's it.
But next fall I'll be in Galesburg, about 30-50 miles from Iowa border, so if anybody's there, too....hey!

Ferndale, Michigan here!
Lots of city and residential burbs rides with a good bar at the end of each one, and close enough to make it downtown Detroit in no time at all. With every street on a tight grid, it makes for really easy commutes too. Rural rides (MTB, CX or Road)) usually require an extra hour or two on the bike before you get to cow country.
