31 miles with member "momof4greatkids" We averaged almost 18 mph and just had a really nice ride. I was a bit chilly even with arm warmers on.

Had a good fitting done in the A.M. Then a long afternoon ride to test it out, 55 miles. Amazing how little alterations make a difference.

Thanks for slowing down for me Gary.....I felt proud of myself for just to be able to hang on.
Can definitely feel fall in the air these days. Sigh.
I'm am coming off a big (for me) mileage week, 342 miles, and I am amazed how really good I do feel. I think it's the hammer products, especially the recovery stuff. What a difference, I don't know if it's just all in my head, but I know I had very little soreness like I would have expected. Good stuff.
Scott, the daylight goes away really quick these days, doesn't it? Glad you made it home safe.

did the Endure It (LBS) "B" group ride this morning. this is a pretty peppy ride normally coming in at 20 mph or faster. just not much attacking or sprinting.
around mile 20 we were hitting it pretty hard. i was off the front with two others when a female rider went down hard. we set up just a bit to clarify directions, she was just behind me and her front wheel turned on her. she went over the bars and face planted. it was horrific looking and sounding. she was riding a full on tri set up (Cervelo) and no one is really sure what happened.
she managed to get to the shoulder on her own. there was lots of blood. paramedics stated she had a fractured jaw. it was nasty and really shook us up. i wish her the best. be careful out there eveyone. later.

28 miles this morning on a route I go on pretty often. Had a nice rabbit to chase for most of it who was riding a Tarmac. dude kept turning around to see if he had dropped me and I kept doing my best to not look gassed when he did.
Fun ride and great weather

exactly 1.2 miles to retreive my truck from the local bar. Me and a high school buddy went over to try some new IPA's. I can't drive after 2. So we called my wife to come get us last night, we tried a few of them. All good.

100.2 solo, unsupported miles with a stop at the Waterloo Deli and Ice Cream Shoppe for another one of those pulled pork sandwiches with fries. I love those things!

Yes - 37.1 miles on 9/27. I finally completed the North Branch path. If any of you were one of 3 or 4 riders who asked if I was OK when I bailed off the bike trying to cross... I think it was Harms Rd... thank you for asking and thank you for holding your snickers until I was out of sight. Still getting used to life with clipless.
First ride yesteday with a new Neuvations cycling S1 seat yesterday. Seems pretty nice so far.

Got a deal on a new Trek 820 on 9/25. Rode to work(13 miles one way) 9/26. Almost made it home, had a mile left, and BOOM, at 20mph I dumped it hard, Thank GOD there were no cars in the lane cause my front tire caught the edge of the sidewalk tossing me right out into the road on my right side, might have bruised a rib cause it still hurts to breathe deep, not to mention my new 21" Trek got banged up. o, I didn't mention I'm 6'4, 275lbs. that pavement really fliipin hurt! Still took the family to Potato Creek State Park (9/27)and rode 10 "easy" miles.

What a great weekend. Four of us drove from Madtown to Sauk, left the cars there, and biked up to one friend's farm near Mauston. I got lost a bit, so I did a few extra miles--62.5 on the way up. 50 miles coming back today. The farm was beautiful, and their little manmade pond is chock full of fat largemouth bass, so I found an old fishing rod in the garage and caught 4 bass, around 1 lb each, and we all had fish for breakfast!

I did the Apple Orchard Ride with a group of 15 from River Falls, WI. It was cool and damp today, but no wind. The first stop was an organic grower 7 miles out of town. Sampled some cider and continued on. Had a mechanical difficulty on the wat to the second. At the base of the meanest hill of the day, a guys chain broke. It took a while but he was able to get it together, but he soon learned he threaded it through the deraileur wrong, and had to re-do it. My Garmin was dancing between 16 and 19 % grade on that hill! Had a light lunch at Apple Ridge Orchard outside of El Paso, WI, pickeed up a caramel apple for the Mrs. and we continued on home. Stats from Ascent:53.1 miles, nearly 2600' of elevation. Nice ride. :-) (I rode the touring bike, which made it tough for me to keep up on the hills) :-(
Gives me 255 miles for the month!
