Nope, I prefer to watch TV while I am on the trainer. VH1 had a awesome Paul McCartney concert on while I rode. I just watch the trainer course on my laptop while I ride. I wouldn't mind running the video through the TV once in a while though. If I can find a cheap 40 foot S-Video cable maybe Ill spring for it. Do you have a preferred source for cheap cables?
never ever by a cable from any other source. i picked up all my low voltage wiring for my HT project from this place. over 1000 feet of cable for the price of what it would cost me to buy one 25' HDMI cable local. later. |
70 miles on the trainer, wet, cold, snowy, and windy weekend here is NE Ohio. I quess that is the way it is going to be for the most part until spring. Hoping for some better weather soon for some outdoor rides.
|
One hour on the trainer with the CTS Time Trial video. It could have been worse.
Leinad, early weather reports are calling for upper 30's and sunny next weekend. One can only hope...:) |
rode to the grocery to get ingredients for chili. went to make corn muffins and crap we don't have any egges. wait... that's an excuse for another ride
|
rode for about 30 mins... feel like a frozen mr freeze...
|
45 very intense minutes on the trainer to the music of Emmure.

Where does one find trainer courses, and how do you you synch them to ones trainer? I have seen some that somehow relicates the contour of the earth as it plays, but those are astronimical in price. Since it looks like we won't be riding unless we get one of those days that are out of the blue in warmth, I have had to break down and look for a trainer (help me Lord). The thought of sitting on a bike in front of the tv does not sound fun, but in order to not have to start off next spring with chicken legs, I need one of these things. What does one watch, video wise--trainer video wise--that makes it bearable? |

not today. i even thought about it, but then the squalls started coming. Then i started to set up my trainer, and then half way through doing that said f it.
In winter cyclists are supposed to drink beer and get fat anyway i thought. |
11.17- 25 miles with my new position on the bike. There was actually one long chainless moment, which was awesome.
|
Rode for 1.5hours on the mountain bike today. did some single track riding as well as some dirt roads. It was a blast, especially after riding the trainer for the last 2 weeks. A few more inches and it will be getting too deep to ride in the woods.
This was fun, I could've used some more aggressive tires or studded tires though. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...e/IMG_2107.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...e/IMG_2109.jpg seasonal road http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...e/IMG_2113.jpg small lake starting to freeze over already http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...e/IMG_2120.jpg |
11.18- 65 miles on the road on my main bike. By the time I got to Strangeville/Parma the temperature was down at least 10º below what I started in and it was snowing pretty good. My hands froze, so I rode another 5 miles and turned around. Sure enough when I got out of the snowfall my hands warmed up and I finished the ride in joy.
Very fun ride, and it ended with my getting a flat four houses away from home. I washed my poor bike, and gave it a tune-up shortly after my arrival. I didn't check, but the temperature had to be int he low 30's, high 20's if it was snowing. I rode to the tunes of The Crystal Method and The Chemical Brothers. |
OK, I posted earlier that I hate winter, but just HAD to go out today. I did 21.88 today in 1:19. Not the greatest, but at least I went! 33 degrees, 10-17 MPH winds, 2244 ft of climbing......off tomorrow...
|
11/19- 32 miles. stupid cold. fingers and toes burn.
29 degrees with a feels like temp of 19. Glad I went in the afternoon rather than the weds. night ride too. There were still some slippery spots, and it will probably only get colder. Time to clean the bike, drink hot choclate and watch the cavs dominate |
11/19......21.89 miles this morning. Mid 20's with a 15-20mph wind did not make for a very pleasant ride. Also Michelin Prorace tires do not make a good ice tire:)
Know I need to figure out why I spent an hour cleaning my "winter" bike....:twitchy: |
11/19- It was a cold one, but I got in 25 miles with 13 miles going pretty much all out into the wind. With normal riding I can't notice anything, but when I'm in the drops hammering, I can really tell that my saddle needs to go back a little bit. I'm going to get re-fit when I get my new bike.

http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=2403763 Short little route to get the heart pumping,3 steep hills and one fast downhill! love passing cars! Mile 8 to 9 is downhill all the way.

Worst commute EVER. First off it was cold and windy. Starting off bad already. Next up my blinky fell off about a mile into the trip. Had to stop traffic from running it over. Realized that the clip was broken...just great. While I was in the process of retrieving the blinky I leaned my bike against a lamp post and it promptly fell over and gouged the paint on the top tube with some nasty looking yellow safety paint. About 2 1/2 miles later I feel a wobble in my back wheel and realize I've flatted. I have a pump and an extra tube, but no 15mm wrench to take off my wheels. Stupid track nuts. I was going to call my wife to bail me out when I realized I left my cell phone in my coat pocket from the night before. I then decide to ride it the remaining 5+ miles in to work. To avoid exacerbating the damage to the rim I stand and pedal the whole time. That just sucked. Changed the tube at work and rigged the blinky to stay in place with some stainless steel wire we have in our workshop. Then on the way home less cold, but a lot windier...20+ mph...all headwind. Last thing, I see this chicken looking bird (not a chicken but I'm not a zookeeper so don't ask me what it really was) on the side of the road and as I come up on it it gets startled and darts right in front of me. I swerved and avoided hitting it, but a split second later I hear a thump as it gets greased by a passing car. Now I have dead mystery bird guilt on top of everything else.
WORST. COMMUTE. EVER. But I did get in 17-18 miles of riding in to loosen my legs up a bit before my trip to Florida :) |
