wow. a week off the bike, and an increase in alcohol and fatty food consumption these past few days made my ride an italian tune up. It was tough at first, but I was feeling great by the end.

57 miles. Speaking of italian tune up, a gallardo passed me on truxell; the resonation off the trees gave me a woody

Did the 40 mile Alpine Valley route out of Backyard Bikes in Lagrange. Great ride with a couple of nasty hills. the weather couldn't have cooperated any better than it did.

Ahem,
Was thinking on why the Kendall Co. folks need to mess w/ parts of Schlapp Rd. It didn't need a new coat. The northern mile or so of the road needs it more than the rest. Most of the money should have gone to making Arbeiter, Van ****, Walker and the west end of Jones Rd. paved or at least oiled down. Arbeiter from 52 goes into far west end of Joliet. Maybe Joliet could chip in to get that road paved or oiled down the whole way.

I did a short , but interesting ride this weekend riding 30 miles from Chicago Botanic Garden to Navy Pier in Chicago using Green Bay Trail and Lake Shore Path. Very entertaining... Did not realize that Green Bay trail is not paved 100% and hit some dirt. Good thing I have a cyclocross bike and it gave me another reason to clean the bike afterward.....

2 miles to the library to return some videos (my first "utility" trip), followed by 18.5 miles. FYI, four DVDs in a plastic bag will just barely stay in place when tucked between the shifter/brake cables and the head tube...

37 1/2 miles including commuting in to work and taking the long way home. I wish summer would get here already. Wearing arm warmers in June feels...wrong

101 miles today, probably the first day this year that I didn't have to deal with any heavy winds! It was so nice to have the winds max out at 8mph. The sun was quite warm today too.

Made it a whole 9.25 miles on Sunday. Had to have a friend drive me home. Gout sucks. Popping pills, eating cherries, and hoping I can walk again soon.

On the plus side, I was riding a new bike that I hadn't ridden before. 2006 DBR Podium3 frame/fork that I got on closeout from Raleigh. It's a nice, smooth ride.

40.8 miles. 25+ on the way in to work and another 15+ on the way home. I have to say that bringing enough stuff to accommodate a 35 degree temperature swing from morning to evening is a bit of a pain.

I rode two times yesterday. 40 miles in the morning, 50 at the Spin ride.
I rode this morning for 40 miles on the TT bike. I ended up moving the extensions out even further to 90mm to find a good position, I feel good now.
I got bored a few hours after getting home after finding out my plans were cancelled, so I went out again for 45 miles on the TCR.

So yeah, 175 miles in two days. All of which were at about 70-75% of max at Level 3.

6/4 45 miles, the Akron Bike Club thursday night fast ride. Great ride, we did some of the big ones in the valley. Group of 7 of us OTF that tried real hard to hurt each other, I think we succeeded too! 20.5mph ave in all those hills no less.

20 miles after work in my new shoes. Nothing to do tonight so I started to learn Dutch.

Wonen de voortbeweegt mij feits.
^my first self-constructed sentence in Dutch.

61 miles this morning. Met up with two buddies then we rode out and met up with the Lake Erie Wheelers ultra distance ride. After about 1 hour of riding with the LEW's our gang broke off then did a 50 minute interval then noodled back home.
