Ahh, the carbon fiber dream is alive and well.

Blustery. Ha.

Yes CyLowe97, carbon fiber, stronger stiffer and less weight it will make it eaiser going up those hills at the DLD next year.

Cold and windy here in O_H_I_O today but got in 31 miles before dark.

I'm new here and just to get up to speed and let you know where i ride, Live in Elyria, Ohio (about 30 miles west CLV) roadie for the most part but do some MTB.

So far this year I have gotten in 10,600 miles and will try to get as close to 12000 as time allows, days are getting short and the winds are blowing strong!

Hello Elyria! Interviewed for a job in Elyria, and actully ended up there for business quite often in my last job.

Did a little cyclocross riding (1 hour) on and off the Jolt Trail and single track along the Root River with my road bike and running shoes. My mounts and dismounts need lots of practice! Looks like I'm off the back again as usual with my 2,000 miles this year ... but actually I'm quite pleased with that because that's my best in the last 5 years and I was actually able to ride in the grass today without my pelvis aching (busted it 2 years ago).

I've got some pics posted HERE from Sunday's cyclocross race here in Milwaukee. Am working on a PHotobucket account where I'm putting my best pics shot that day (full screen size) plus some of the .mpeg video I shot. Those guys and gals KICK *** !

Chow. :)

Keep that train a-rollin and you'll become an honorary Boilermaker. ;)

You've inspired me to do my commute tomorrow morning :D!

I work for a lumber company in the office. I do estimating for roof trusses, wall panels and floor decks. We are not all that busy right now so were at 40 hours. But during the summer it can be over 50. Oh by the way I have to use up 10 vacation day not including holidays. Put it this way I would rather be an Engineer (like Psimet2001*) than an estimator.

Great pix, JW. Estabrook was a great course. Loved the wall. Almost face-planted into the barriers right next to the spectator area after a FUBAR'ed dismount.

Still racking up 150+ miles/week with commuting, training and racing. Well over 6,000 for the year, split between 4 bikes.

JW - you CX'ing this week at Stoughton?

leinad 11-09-07 05:51 PM

11/9/07 rode the Ohio and erie canal towpath with garysol1 today. 20 miles from peninsula to brecksville with a couple of side tours to make things interesting. Saw a nice ten point along with some does. Raced a train into Brecksville (we won!! woo hoo). Nice ride and nice fall day to go with it.

slim_77 11-10-07 01:05 PM

10/9: 26 miles on Lakefront. Nottoocold. Pretty as hell, especially through my rose tinted eye protection device.
10/10: sit on arse.
10/11: semi planned ~100 miles to someplace north and back. Probably Kenosha...other thread makes the decision easy...gotta do it man...hope the wind is "easy" on me...hope it does not rain...meh, whatever, I'm still going...

Holesmokes! 5 miles to a Starbucks?!?!? In the city I can pass a dozen in 5 miles...(not that that is preferable:rolleyes:) Then again, Chicago is one of the most caffeinated city in America (so says RedEye)...

jbernaeyge 11-10-07 01:22 PM

11-10 village pedaler group ride this morning. it was a good ride but a little cold

Jose Perez 11-10-07 02:34 PM

39.3 miles doing the Alpine Valley route from Backyard Bikes in La Grange. The two hills near where the route crosses I-43 are very HHH'esque. Hell they even named one "The Wall", which does look very imposing as you come up to it. I chuckled to myself and said out loud "You're kidding me right" to no one in particular. Two back to back 1 mile climbs with grades up to 17%.

Great way to spend a Saturday morning

leinad 11-10-07 03:12 PM

Got in two rides today, this morning was 33 miles, the standard Lorain Wheelmen Sat ride to Wakemen for bad coffee and pancakes, wet roads from overnight rain 39 degrees.

After lunch, me and the wife (a very good rider in her own right) did a 35 mile ride. started out nice 48 degrees, but a front went thorugh and dropped the temp to the low 40's and took away the sun too, but all in all not a bad ride.

20 on the folder & another 2 after dark on a 45 year old (and very dignified) Schwinn Raleigh-wannabe.

Not huge, but it was the ride I wanted.

(that made like 110 Sturmey Archer miles for the week :) )

slim_77 11-11-07 02:18 PM

11/11: 93 miles; 5:20. (Thank god I have the day off tomorrow!:D) Going up was nice and easy, the ride back was...much harder and lots colder. No rain though!

Happy vets day.

26 miles today along a route I'm very familiar with. Weather sucked but I made the most of it and got in a good ride otherwise
