5/27 = yes. 15 miles or so with the in-laws along the Gilman trail. Nice slow ride. I was hauling my son in the trailoer and he melted down - making my wife give me the go ahead to haul a$$ back. Nothing like hauling a trailer at 22+ mph with a homemade siren screaming in the back. No need to call "on your left".

i did a little roller repeat. it takes me about 13 miles to find a roller! at this point there is this nice little 4.5 mile stretch of rolliness. i rode thru it then turned back and hit it again. not much, but i am doing all i can to prepare for the HHH while riding in will county. its tough. plus, the legs were dead to me today. good times.

My Ride

36.53 miles / 17 mph avg

later.

33 miles with CyLowe in Bull Valley. Up down, up down. Broke 50 mph for the first time in a long time. Still just shy of 1000 miles this year. Not being able to start riding until April really hurt this year. Then again 1,000 miles in 2 months isn't too bad for me.

....now will I commute tomorrow?.....stay tuned....

5/28 120 miles, 220 for the weekend, 700 this month, 1200 for the year.

Thinking about heading down to Blue Mounds this Saturday and riding some on the HHH course. Anyone going to be around?

Commute. Today's ride was interesting considering the hills we did yesterday. Something wierd is going on with my left leg. I think I pulled a muscle I didn't realize I had....

5/29 - Rode 17.8 miles at the Greenway (North) from McGalliard. I've moved my seat forward a bit and it made a big difference. Avg went down the drain to 15 mph due to some slower family riders who were weaving across the whole path no biggie they were cool (on the return trip)....on the way to the North end (where the drinking fountain is) I was above 18mph and at 20mph for a most of the time...

22 mile lunch jaunt. Short steep hills. Perfect weather. Little wind to deal with. Great ride!

22 miles, plenty of wind this evening. It picked up to 16mph with 20-25mph gusts. So another slog south coupled with a joyride north!

5/30 yes. 25 miles and caught in the rain again. Was heading down to Diamond Bluff when we noticed the wind, which had been blowing up near 20, had let up. Turned around at that point and when we got back out of the valley we saw this big black wall moving in from the SW. Turned it up a notch, retraced our route and almost made it back to town. I was coming down the mile long hill known as Happy Valley RD when it started to pour. Stopped under a tree to put the helmet cover on, and continued. About four miles in the rain this week. Didn't rain as hard as last week on me, but I was just as wet when I got home!

6/1 = Yes - Commute again. Saw a big turtle on the banks digging holes. Got jumped by some Canadian geese, and almost made a chipmunk a spoke decorator. There's also this tiny little bunny that races me each time I come through that section. Jumps right out on the trail in front of me and then proceeds to run along the trail instead of across it.

5/31 = Kinda - put in a session on the trainer last night after my son went to bed. I know it's horrible to ride a trainer at the end of May, but it is the only way I can get interval sessions in.

5/31 yes. Last minute 7:00pm decision to take a fast ride around the block. 30 minutes of riding as fast as I can. Lungs and legs stinging. I have been doing shorter harder rides. 1 hour power rides, just fit my schedule better. The weekends will bring some longer rides coming up in the next month.

6/2 - Yep.

20 miles from Carpentersville up through Algonquin and Barrington Hills. Pretty relaxed ride, just like aham's getting ready for 100 on Sunday.
