That doesn't happen with the guys!

Ha ha ha. That seems so familiar. Too fast for the women, except for Smokin' Miles, I'm thinking... (and oh that chatter!), too slow for the men. That is why I like the organized, supported rides (always someone around) or I just ride by myself.

Simple 32 mile route to Paoli today, passed 3,000 miles for the year and holding at 763 for the month of July!

72 solo miles for me today. My wife was competing in her first triathlon (sprint distance) and the plan was to ride down to watch her finish and then drive home together. She finished and had a great time... and I rolled in 40 minutes later (of course.) I got lost. Then I got "doored". It was all pretty mild as far as running into a car door goes- but it's the last time I check my cue sheet while passing a parked car! I came out almost unscathed, and I missed the lady and her car door on my way over the bars. I'll need to true my wheel, and I am concerned about my right brifter that took all of the impact- I hope something can be "bent back" to make it shift well again. Any tips? Overall though it was a great ride.

*Edit* Wiswell- you're a machine!

You are soooo right...even if one ends up alone, in an organized ride you know someone isn't far away. 'Course you could hang with the guys !!!! Awesome mileage!!!!

Impressive.

Quick ride to flush out the beer and chocolate from the wedding last night, and the laziness from the car ride today. Ran into CyLowe. He turned around and rode with me back. Nice, short, got some lead out.

7/27- 50 miles

CrimsonKarter21 07-27-08 04:26 PM

21 miles of singletrack, no falls. I rode very well (IMO) for being a novice MTB rider, I'm just getting as much saddle time as I possibly can on my new Giant Trance.

jbernaeyge 07-27-08 05:00 PM

wors mtb race. 8 miles in 44 min. 2nd in my age group and 11th out of 151 overall

cyclpsycho 07-27-08 05:16 PM

80 miles. Rode to Bull Valley from Elgin. Did 37 miles up in them there hills and back home again.

Reinforced my hatred of hot weather :notamused:

64 miles out to La Grange and back. Should have been 59 miles, but I decided to take a "shortcut" that had me wandering around the roads north of Backyard Bikes for a while longer than I needed to. Oh well, felt good to go for a ride for a purpose other than commuting (car's in the shop and I was left pedaling back and forth to work) funny how commuting by bike isn't as much when you have to do it as opposed to when you want to do it.

31 this morning. Slept in way too late (7:30) and had to squeeze in the ride before going out for mother-in-law's B-day lunch. Got home about 5:00 and spent the rest of my day stripping. Removing paint, you perverts!

nvr 07-28-08 07:30 PM

7/28 51 miles. Trying to hit 600 for the month...62 to go. Rain possibility for tomorrow, guess I better put the fender and lights on.

runwithit 07-29-08 04:33 PM

7/27 - 40 miles
7/28 - 40 miles

Sunday was faster than yesterday's ride. My wife joined me on my ride yesterday. Vacationing in St. Joseph, MI... rode through some back roads and then up highway 63 and back. Was a nice ride... both days.

patester242002 07-29-08 05:17 PM

Get those 60 plus miles plus some extra before the weekend as it's supposed to get dangerously hot come the weekend in chitown. Upper 90's w/ heat index over 105 possible this weekend.

CrimsonKarter21 07-29-08 05:18 PM

two laps of Findley Netl. Park, which makes 20 miles of very fun and fast single and double track.
This is my first real time riding there, and it suits me pretty well; flat, not very technical, tons of roots, and a few power spots with some good passing op's.

a couple of pictures from my ride today

It was pretty hazy, you can barely see Lake Mi here

nocondorfx 07-29-08 06:34 PM

bikes in the shop for the next few days... so 17 easy miles on the bike path with a friend

Scummer 07-29-08 07:45 PM

Computer recorded 24 miles today. But I forgot to turn it on for a couple of laps, so more like 28 miles or so. avg speed 22.4mph. I was off the back most of the time during race 1 and race 2.
Race 3 I was able to hang on at least and the avg speed was around 25.5mph for that race.
Today was ridiculously fast. Fastest Tuesday night training I've been on so far.

I'm toast.

Nice Pics Brian.

Wish I had seen you post earlier. Just spent a week in Elk Rapids and had to ride alone while there. Did the penninsula loop solo. Quite scenic. You've got some nice roads for riding on up there.

brian416 07-30-08 05:26 AM

the peninsula loop is a fun ride, if you are up here, don't forget to check out Leelannau County for some great riding.
