I pulled in right about 7am due to being stuck behind a S.A.M.V. (slow a$$ moving vehicle) along the way. I did catch a glimpse of the polka dotted Trek that SJCzar owns. Very nice. The ride was just like nvr mentioned. Cool weather, gentle winds, empty roads and friendly riders. It did seem there were more uphills than downers. Which is fine with me. Got done and headed straight over for a massage. Almost fell asleep on the table. Had some brats and then drove home. It was a great day although I would have liked to have met whitesox, SJCzar and nvr. Maybe next time.

It was a great day for a ride. White Sox and I didn't get to meet up until after the 1st rest stop. From there we rode with a nice guy who had done the ride a few other times. We ended up doing the whole 100 route. The club does a good job of putting on the event and we also enjoyed the food from the Knights of Columbus at the end.
I really liked having the central rest stop. It was nice to be able to switch the loops around if you wanted to (we got the blue out of the way before the red). I think that set-up helped make some riders decide to go for it all, as it broke the route up into more manageable sections.
It was alot more fun having someone to ride with (thanks white sox and John). Hopefully, we'll get to meet up again for another ride someday.

I did my first century at Ramble!!, yay!!!.... and mostly due to SJCzar for hanging with me almost the entire race, and our friend John that rode with us as well.
It was a great day!! I met SJCzar on the second loop, but she is so powerful with the hills, I lost her and told her to go ahead, LOL!! I saw her at the rest stop and she and I and John decided to do the biggest, 30 mile, loop together... so we did What a great ride, and good to get the biggest loop out of the way early on.
The rest of the ride was just maintenance... going my pace and hanging in there with SCJzar as she took those hills like bumps in the road, LOL!! I'm serious guys, you've met your hill competition with her
So yes a great ride and a great accomplishment for me as well, my first century
SJCzar... I haven't emailed you yet, but I will.... I still have your email... and thanks for hanging with me... without you, I wouldn't have been able to complete my first century

like others have said, beautiful weather. i woke up a lot later than i had planned so i didn't get there in time to look for any of the BFNIC peoples. i found a paceline of about 10 people at the start and rode with them for the first loop. it was nice and quick and i was averaging 21mph at that point.
i lost the paceline group after the first stop so i headed out on my own for the second loop. and just in case you didn't know, riding solo requires much more effort than riding in the middle of a paceline </sarcasm>. anyways, after the second loop, one of the gentlemen from the original paceline found me and we ended up riding the final loops together, which was nice. my legs went dead after about 60 miles, so my new friend helped lead me into the rest stops and waited up for me a couple times. we found a couple guys on tri-bikes that we ended up riding with off-and-on as they caught up to us.
anyways, i was riding a moots vamoots and wearing a blue/black argyle jersey in case anyone saw me.
edge 305 ride stats:
100.03 miles
18.2 avg spd
154 avg bpm (ouch!)
