Chicago Used Bikes
Hello all, this is for people familiar with the city of Chicago. Do you know of any bike stores in the city that deal with used bikes that would be worth checking out? I went to Uptown Bikes today but didnt find much. Thanks.

I just stopped by a bike sale on Saturday near Belmont and Western. The guy's name is Kevin and he really seemed like a knowledgeable, trustworthy guy. He has about 150 bikes, from road bikes to three speeds. He definitely knows his old English three speeds, and he seems several levels above some of the guys around here who are an assembly line of overpriced fixie-conversions for Craiglist. I'm picking up a bike from him tomorrow.
Depending on what you're looking for, he may be an option. Feel free to pm me for his number. I never met him prior to Saturday and have no connection to him.
Best of luck,
Bob

It most definitely depends on what kind of bike you're looking for and what your budget is. If you let us know, I'm certain that someone on BF could point you in the right direction or help you out directly.

Here is a nice listing which is plotted on a map of chicago: https://indylist.org/browse?keyword=bike
I can personally recommend working bikes although if you want a road bike they sell out rather quickly. Keep in mind they get in new stuff daily so you have to check a lot...I would assume the same to be true for Uptown Bikes.
