Led Zepplin? I don't think I make that demographic. :50:

sorry you missed some good times, sonny-boy ;)

Yes the beatles are great, influential. But the 4 most individually talented musicians coming together=Led Zepplin.

C'mon, Ringo Starr is no comparison to John Bonham.

You said greatest....not best. I am looking not only there music but what they contributed to the music world in general. The Beatles made it ok to be a rock band and the Stones were not far behind. We need to have a BF trip to the Hall of Fame :)

Hey all, as a few might know, I'm a HUGE John Frusciante fan (2nd best guitarist EVAR, IMO)

He's just released a song from his new solo album coming out in January, it's awesome. Seriously, check the song out, it's called "Unreachable"

NEIL PEART, "RUSH" the finast drummer in the land, Period!!!!

As far as quitars, way to many good ones to say one is best. Depends on the style.

That's the beauty of punk rock, no pissing match about who is the best musician. Just moshing goodness. :thumb:

That shot is hilarious. Page may be getting old, but he still oozes cool.

Along the lines of Foo and Zeppelin....

I just checked my e-bay auctions (things I'm selling) and the only thing that ran through my head was, "Lots of people 'watching', few of them know..."

Johnny Ramone is a legendary guitarist for the famouse band, the Ramones. Johnny Ramone was the originator of the down stroke 8th note guitar style.

Mention of the Beatles nearly made me cry. They're like nails on a chalkboard. Let's get this tread back on track.

Any 24 hours of LeMans fans here? How about race cars flipping for absolutely NO REASON.

Here's another good band to come out of Crakron. Just two guys "The Black Keys" an amazing rock-blues mix. Me and my son are going to see them in Jan. This is worth a listen:

You have no idea how close I came to going to their Akron Obama-Rally concert in late October or November. Unfortunately, I couldn't shell out $300 for a couple of tickets.

Ever see the '55 crash? Magnesium burns hot. Mercedes didn't race for another 40 years. :(

I tried so hard to get into LeMans, but my attention span is too short for it. I respect those guys so much, but I can't watch 24 hours of talent.

Now F1; there's racing. This year was awesome. I was really pulling for Kubica, and then Massa. Nando's b2b wins were breathtaking, Vettel's 1st was one of the coolest things around, and Kubica's 1st was an expected surprise.

Hickeydog 12-03-08 08:12 PM

I never understood car racing, like F1. I just don't. Besides the crashes, what's there to watch? I guess it's like bicycle racing. You're bored silly unless you know what's going on.

That's pretty much it. I was the same way, but I started understanding it a little more. I'll get up at 5am to catch a race live on TV.

nocondorfx 12-03-08 09:01 PM

So Foo's. Scotty won't be riding his bike for the next few days because he got a job. Well, only a very temporary job- 3 days. But I'm in Michigan making deliveries all day and night, so no bike. But, maybe I'll get paid to help take care of those Eastons I had to grab off ebay.

John Wilke 12-04-08 07:52 AM

I like car racing, it can be pretty intense, but I just don't get F1 either. It's high tech, fast as blazes, but I'd rather watch the WRC.

Regarding music: What's the best concert you've ever attended?

July 1990 (I believe) - Blondie/Ramones/NewOrder/ViolentFems (quite the show!)

On other occasions also saw Judas Priest and Stevie Ray Vaughn - OH! My ears rang for days after that one!

:roflmao2:

1979 - The Police at a dump called Merlin's
1982 - U2 at a dump called Headliners
1982 - Clarence "Gatemouth" Brown somewhere in Madison
1983 - Frank Zappa, second row center at the Madison Civic Center
1984 - Talking Heads somewhere in Chicago
1990 - Ministry at the Metro

Hard to choose

Hard to choose

I'm jealous! I have a huge crush on Bono

It's hard to pick "the best", but Farm Aid in 2001 in Indiana was pretty special. It was about a week after 9/11, it was an awesome shared experience in the amphitheatre on a gorgeous fall night when Mellencamp, in Indiana where he is king, did "little pink houses".

In the last millenium  the "biggest" show for me was probably Led Zeppelin at the Richfield Coliseum (which is now relegated to the dust bin of history) in spring of '77. The show was so incredible, it was famously booted and titled "Destroyer". I had terrible nosebleed seats, but at least i was in the house.:thumb:
