I'm fairly new to cycling but I have already spent plenty of time (and money) in local bike shops. Which are the great local bike shops and why (prices, experience, advice, inventory, vintage parts, etc)

I have had mixed results at various places. So far price wise the seem to be fairly even. Ernie's in Massillon has a ton of vintage parts including whitworth bolts and SA hub parts. Dell's has removed freewheels and other things for free while Gemini wanted $10.00.

So far Ernies has been better for me, and I have gotten great deals (I got a Campy NR crank set for $15.00)

I am partial to Orrville Cycling and Fittness in Orrville, Most likely one of the older shops in the area. I think they have bee in business sence the late 50's.

Also, this is the shop that the Orrville Cycling Club rides out of. There abbout 5 or 6 riders from Masilon area that come over and do our weekly ride.

Thanks for the tip, i'll have to check it out. This cycling club sounds interesting, what type of ride is it? I have been considering giving group rides a shot but want to make sure they are begginer friendly.

More my neighborhood than yours, but Century Cycles in Peninsula is staffed by some real great guys.

+1. I go to Century, Chip goes to Century. It's a really great shop.

Century came up in another thread today. They posted a free Schwinn varsity and made bets on how long till someone was kicking in the door. I will have to check it out when I am in the Cleveland area.
