4th Annual BFNIC Spring Classic
WHAT: Open invitation to a ride for anyone who reads this post, and their friends. Riding your vintage bike is highly encouraged but all bikes and riders are welcome.
Please note, this ride will be divided into A and B groups. This is a no drop ride but there is no SAG support.
WHEN: April 24, 2010. Start times are as follows;
West loop – meet at 7:30, start ride at 8:00 am.
East loop, A riders – meet at 10:00, start ride at 10:30 am.
East loop, B riders – meet at 10:30, start ride at 11:00 am.
WHERE: Village Park parking lot in New Glarus, WI.
Map of Village parking lot https://maps.google.com/maps?hl=en&so...3&z=14&iwloc=A
FORMAT: This ride will have two groups, an A and B.
All will start the West Loop at 8:00 am. They will ride a 50 km route ending back at the starting point. The faster A group will start the East Loop at 10:30 am. They will ride a 50 km route ending back at the starting point. The B group will start the East Loop at 11:00 am. They will ride a shorter 25 km route ending back at the starting point. Riders can decide which speed/distance is best for them. It is quite hilly, 39/27 gearing is recommended.

Cue sheets, B riders https://www.h3odesign.com/BFNIC_B_Loops.pdf
No-Drop rule for both legs (could effect start times but probably won’t – just be flexible). Faster riders will be allowed to ride at their own speed, but a sweep rider will be available for slower riders.
Only moral support is provided. You must provide your own fluid/food for the ride. There are optional stops on both legs. The idea is that you bring your own and leave it in your car. Each time we return to the car you will then stock up for the next 50 km ride.
Cue-sheets and maps will be provided. No road markings, but some of us know the route pretty well.
Currently we have no mechanical SAG support. If someone could bring a spouse or friend to help fill that role – it would be great!
WHY: This is meant as a social ride. It is an opportunity for Bike Forums members, friends and acquaintances to get together and meet, and ride together in a group. It is also meant as an opportunity for riders to challenge themselves in a “safe environment”. If you have never ridden a Metric before you will be surrounded by a lot of riders that have that can lend you support.
Feel free to bring non-BF riders as well, but remember this is not an “organized event”. This is simply a large group ride.
Please spread the word to anyone else you think might be interested.

Seriously, the thinking on the fact that the second loop for the B riders is shorter is because they (we...) will start later and be slower, thus all ending with the A group at roughly the same time?
Can we have a B roll call?

Here are the routes on mapmyride.com. Hopefully others can use them as I'm horrible at following a cue sheet and would rather let my 705 tell me when to turn...

Wiswell - I'm B, or B-, depending.

Who else is in???
I am doing a warm-up loop tomorrow out to Union and stopping at The Crotch of the Dog for lunch. If anyone is interested, I'll be at the Crystal Lake Main Beach parking lot from 9-9:30. I have posted this in C&V so there will be some old-timers on old bikes. Don't worry, they're nice.

[QUOTE=nietsmas;10681379] I'm horrible at following a cue sheet and would rather...follow someone else when they go off the front and miss the turn. But that's just me.

ROLLCALL Who's in (assuming decent weather)?
Voldemort-Yes, I'm in.
I always deam of being in the "A" group... and then I end up in nevernever land between "A" and "B". Maybe this will be the year I'm smart enough to start with the "B" group (but I doubt it).

Sigh...someday I'll learn me how to use a computer to do things like make something actually print in color vs. say "COLOR"
