Burnam Crit Data
For anyone who is curious, here is my data from today's crits. I got flicked otb in the cat 5 race after covering too many attacks at the front, then joined a group and finished about 1 minute or so back of the main pack.
Finished with the pack in the Master's 50+ but just barely. Ended at the front with 1.5 laps to go ... stupid idiot! :deadhorse: Cat 5 Data Value Unit Duration 0:51:52 Sampling Rate 1 s Cycling Efficiency 20.3 % Energy Expenditure 639 kcal Number of Heart Beats 8093 beats Recovery 5 beats Minimum Heart Rate 74 bpm Average Heart Rate 156 bpm Maximum Heart Rate 174 bpm Standard Deviation 15.6 bpm Minimum Speed 1.4 mph Average Speed 20.4 mph Maximum Speed 31.4 mph Distance 17.6 miles Odometer 72 miles Minimum Cadence 31 rpm Average Cadence 94 rpm Maximum Cadence 119 rpm Coasting Time 0:05:55 (11.4 %) Coasting Distance 1.3 miles (7.5 %) Minimum Altitude 784 ft Average Altitude 794 ft Maximum Altitude 804 ft Ascent 16 ft Descent 66 ft VAM 19 ft/h Minimum Power 3 Watts Average Power 208 Watts Average Power (0 W incl.) 182 Watts Maximum Power 672 Watts Pedaling Index Average 28 % Pedaling Index Maximum 64 % Left Right Balance Average L53 - 47R Left - Right Left Right Balance Maximum L89 - 11R Left - Right Master 50+ Data Value Unit Duration 0:39:32 Sampling Rate 1 s Cycling Efficiency 18.8 % Number of Heart Beats 6328 beats Recovery -56 beats Minimum Heart Rate 98 bpm Average Heart Rate 160 bpm Maximum Heart Rate 176 bpm Standard Deviation 7.6 bpm Minimum Speed 1.3 mph Average Speed 23.3 mph Maximum Speed 31.3 mph Distance 15.4 miles Odometer 88 miles Minimum Cadence 29 rpm Average Cadence 97 rpm Maximum Cadence 119 rpm Coasting Time 0:04:54 (12.4 %) Coasting Distance 1.9 miles (12.5 %) Minimum Altitude 804 ft Average Altitude 814 ft Maximum Altitude 823 ft Ascent 16 ft VAM 24 ft/h Minimum Power 1 Watts Average Power 217 Watts Average Power (0 W incl.) 180 Watts Maximum Power 704 Watts Pedaling Index Average 31 % Pedaling Index Maximum 83 % Left Right Balance Average L53 - 47R Left - Right Left Right Balance Maximum L90 - 10R Left - Right |
I think the Cervelo will have to race tomorrow. The Cannondale was so embarrassed she refuses to go again till I pull my act together.
|
I think you may have the races mixed up. Cat 5 hardly lasted 52 minutes?
Congrats on finishing in one piece. Double congrats on not getting lapped. Think I got lapped twice in my first crit. |
I'll have some photos and a write up done by 10pm.
Just rolled in. |
|
Rule #1 for not blowing yourself up in s Car 5 crit, is let the other dudes chase down Eric from bh.
Way to get out there, CC. See you tomorrow? |
Mjh. Lol, he was definitely one if the attacks that got me. Lol
|
|
that was fun. learned a couple things. finished at the back of both the main group in 5s and 30s. Joliet is up next in a couple hours. later.
|
my average speed at joliet today deff outpaced burnham, 21.5 versus 20.4ish. Though those pulls at the front limited what little sprint i had drastically...top speed today of 31.5 today versus 39.6 yesterday

Here are my Joliet numbers. Finished 13 in the CAT 5's and similar in the Masters 50+. Reasonably happy with my performance. About the same effort in the 5's as in Beloit. Worked a little harder in the masters but pretty close also. Really fun and nice and safe. Still concerned about my weak right leg power imbalance. :( Don't think I'll ever have much chance of winning anything, but at least I can compete.

You are way too obsessed with numbers -- just enjoy yourself and have a good time! :thumb: |
Home from Joliet! What a weird drive!! Good to be back in Cheeseland.

I didn't see any one else out there, so it must have been. :)
Having that race on the car track was a great idea. How anyone can ride down there on anything less than a Pugsley is beyond me. This was on my Google recommended route! Is this the Autobahn? :D http://i219.photobucket.com/albums/c...ycling/UP0.jpg |
John,
Blame the Centerpoint idiots for ruining some of the roads like the one pictured on Patterson Rd. or any other near the site. They are building another intermodel site like the one in Elwood a few miles south of there which I think is definitely not needed. They have ruined the roads between Elwood and the south part of Joliet to where they're not real suitable to bikes anymore. Hopefully they'll fix them back up after the Centerpoint site is all finished. The only good way to get from Joliet to Elwood is taking Brandon Rd. across the Desplaines River bridge (think rehab work on the bridge is due this yr. or next) , past the narrow RR underpass, up the hill to first road on right, then right on Patterson Rd. where you'll have a great view of the quarries. Continue south to Millsdale, left to Brandon Rd., then right. Continue south across Manhattan / Arsenal Rd. where road becomes Chicago Ave. and take it down past the park and the school (on right) to Mississippi Ave. There's a small park on NE corner. There is a very small downtown area about a block east of Chicago Ave. going towards 53. |

It was brutal out there. Great venue for a bike race, though. Loved the fast corners.
Slim... I think we're going to be close on the omnium. Will be interesting to see how it's scored. |
I take that back... I thought you were 7th today. You got. me by a point or two. Congrats!

Today, in Joliet, I averaged 255w for 42 min in the 4s. That wind was brutal.
