A twilight tour, a bike/parts swap, a memorial tour and a race!

Anyone else planning on it?

Hmm... I wonder if it's reasonable for us to try the Twilight Tour this early in our cycling careers...

I'm trying to talk myself into registering for the Twilight Tour. I wonder what else there will be to do if I get there earlier.

It was a great time. The bike swap had very little, though I did manage to spend money anyway. There weren't many people there until less than an hour before the ride. I thought it was going to be a poor turnout, then people started pouring in. (Apparently they knew better than to show up early for the bike swap. I didn't get the memo.)

I'm bad at estimating, but I'd say there were a few hundred riders. Maybe 300 - 400? Not really sure. We started at 8:09, and our group got in at 9:45, including a stop at the "half way" area that lasted a good 10 minutes. After the finish there were Donatos pizzas aplenty, and water. There was a band playing too, but I just ate, drank some water, and went home.

There were lots of volunteers with flags to direct us, as well as police support. There were a lot of turns though, and there couldn't be someone at all of them, so the group I was riding with had to stop and figure out which way to go a couple of times. Not a race, so no big deal, as long as we didn't run over each other.

There was some swag too. One of those reusable shopping bags, a t-shirt that is too small for me, a little blinky from the Trek Store that is pretty nice, a Crew hat and ticket for August 28, and a couple other nick nacks.

It was really fun. I'll do it again any chance I get, if it is held again. Highly recommended.

The Twilight Tour was the first time I have ever rode in a group of other bikers. I enjoyed it a lot.

They had the path pretty well marked and having the police blocking roads and traffic was really sweet.

The whole time we were ridding everyone around us was cheering us on, taking pictures, and wanted to join. That itself was sooo worth it!

We even went to the Park Street Area, which is area full of really nice night clubs/ bars and they came out of the bars and were cheering us on. It was really cool to ride through there at night with it all lit up and stuff.
- side note I ended up there drinking the rest of the night!

The workers did a great job with the stop outside Nationwide Arena and with all the pizza, water, and myoplex protein at the end of the ride!

Got a little harder when it got dark, with trying to avoid potholes, and gravel and stuff like that. A group of two or three wrecked about 5 bikes ahead of me. I almost got tangled up with them but just missed them. The one woman got the worst of it because she couldn't get free of her clip-ins.

All in all it was a amazing time and I got the itch now to do more of these. Also made out pretty well on the parts swap as well!
