Thanks MJH2. I probably agree with you but have direct experience with the mayor ordering the chief of police to "harass" that was his word, a certain entity in our village. I was familiar with the mayor and knew the chief of police at the time, so similar things have been done in the past, at least in South Barrington. The officers may have been told they need to write X number of bicycle citations every week/month, etc.

Like I have said repeatedly at this point, I will reserve judgment, either way, until I speak with the officers and observed their actions.

It would be nice if they received the same treatment by cars as normal cyclists. It would definitely help them make suggestions for improving bicycle safety.

Unfortunately, I'm not too positive that drivers in the area are stupid enough to try and cut off a cop. They may never know what we go through.
