The Holmes 100 is an organized 100 mile bike ride through the scenic countryside of Holmes County. Enjoy long stretches of winding roads through the valleys and hills. This event is put on by Jeff Alexander in teamwork with the Historic Downtown Millersburg. The 5th annual Holmes 100 ride will take place on September 11, 2010. The rides will begin and end in Historic Downtown Millersburg at the courthouse lawn. There are three rides to choose from, a 100, 60 and a 25 mile ride. Afterwards there will be a spaghetti dinner for all participants ($5 for non participants). All proceeds go to Historic Downtown Millersburg. Spouses not participating in the ride can enjoy a mix of eclectic shops in Historic Downtown Millersburg. Make an afternoon of it and invite your friends and family to cheer your return.

Only a couple hours away for me. Might drive over, and ride the 60.

I took the drive over, and did the ride. Folks did a great job of organizing, making sure we were hydrated, and nourished. Turns were well marked, but I did get confused a couple times as last years markings were still showing at points. They even had the SAG car collecting jackets, and such along the way as the day got warmer. Roads were smooth, and mostly rolling. There were a few sustained climbs along the way. I've been off the bike for a couple weeks, and it showed towards the end. Met a bunch of great folks along the way. I even ran into Bikeforums member Leinad at the ride start. I remembered him as the pancake maker from the Lorain Wheelmens Red Flannel ride a couple of years back.

I hope to see this ride on the calendar next year. Garmin data below.
