Touchup Paint

Do bike manufacturers make touch up paint to cover scratches, etc. available to consumers to purchase? Yes, I have my first scratches on my Sirrus Elite from a bungee cord hook.

Bikes: Many

For many cyclists, this is a time to celebrate, because now you don't have to worry about the first scratch.

I have never heard of touch-up paint from bicycle manufacturers.

There are 4 common suggestions in threads where this question is asked.

1) Go to an auto parts store and get the closest automotive touch-up paint

2) Go to K-mart (or elsewhere) and find a nail polish that closely matches the colors.

3) Get the closest model paint (or mix a couple of different colors if you are skillful) and use it to touch-up the scratch.

4) Don't sweat it, bicycles aren't that fragile, and are made to be ridden.

Well, I've only had the bike a couple of weeks or so, so it's a bit disappointing. OTOH, my car is 15 years old, and one of it's best features is I don't have to worry about scratches, dings or dents anymore. I can park anywhere, next to anything!

I may try the nail polish suggestion, or just get used to the scratches.

Back in 1985(?) I purchased my first "serious" bike - a Nishiki Excelle. It came with a small bottle of touch-up paint. It would be great if bikes still did that.
