New sirrus owner here. Besides riding it, is there anything I should look out for in the future for issues, if any?

I've got an old 2006/2007 Sirrus. It's had very little use, and I'd like to use it for some recreational family rides (now that we have kids old enough to ride). However, I'd like to replace the 700x28c tires with something a bit more gravel-friendly. We won't be riding gravel roads per se, but we now live in a more rural area with a gravel driveway, dirtier roads, etc. The bike is currently wearing the OEM Alexrims AT400 rims. It has some bolt-on accessories (racks, etc) but the driveline is bone stock.
Any suggestions on tires that would work well on this existing OEM setup? |

What model/year did you get? Check the inside of one of the bar ends there is an included allen wrench for wrenching tires and other minor screws.

I wanted to close the loop on my search: after spending a while test riding a couple of Sirrus bikes and a couple of different Diverge bikes I chose the Sirrus X. I believe it is a great fit for what I need now and in the foreseeable near future and was also less money than a Diverge I would have bought. I am fairly certain I will get a drop bike in the future too while keeping the Sirrus X for a long time.
Any suggestions on tire pressures? |
Hey guys! Found (what I think) is a good deal on a 2015 specialized Sirrus elite with disc brakes. He agreed to sell it for 375$, and it only has 300 miles ridden. Is this a good deal?

Im about to buy a Sirrus Elite 2019 but have a few questions.
The stem, can I replace it without any issues? Cause the original one is now my cup of tea, and want to have the option to replace it with another one. And is it possible to mount 45mm SKS Longboard mudguards with 35mm studded winter tyres on the frame/fork? |

173cms (5'8); long legs/arms, short torso. Medium Sirrus (X Comp) with stock stem > perfect fit. Slightly better than my '10 Sirrus Comp; mainly the slightly longer frame reach of the '19.
Waiting on a detailed write up and pics of your Sirrus X Comp. :innocent: |

Has anyone upgraded their wheelset? What did you get? I have a 2015 with a 2x9 with disc brakes. Any recommendations?
Looking to lower the overall weight and get more aeros! |
Comp X
My Comp X with a few upgrades. New GRX brakes are a big improvement.

I love the tight clearance at the fork -- it looks like a custom fit! What size tires are those? Bike looks great.

I feel like Specialized hasn't refreshed the Sirrus line in ages...well, except the new bottom rung Sirrus that showed up on their site the other day, and a new color option on the Pro Carbon.
I'd like to see a slew of updated models/paint schemes. Feel like I've been waiting forever? |

I'd like to see a slew of updated models/paint schemes. Feel like I've been waiting forever? The current Sirrus -- entire line-up, carbon and aluminum -- was completely new in '18. '19 is only that line-up's second model year. And, as mentioned above, the carbon X Comp model was added for this year. A three years' run -- '18, '19, '20 -- is perfectly normal. Wouldn't be surprised if the current line-up didn't carry over into '21 as well, with minor changes/refreshed colours etc. If they are selling, why not? I've just acquired an X Comp this year, but if, say, the current 'Pro' version were uprated for '21 to the new hydraulically-damped Future Shock from the Roubaix, higher-end brakes/wheels, and Di2, I'd be all over it. Won't happen, but if it did ... The current frameset is perfect, for me, as far as geometry/fit goes. |
mscenic your CompX is just awesome looking. It looks super fast and bad ass just sitting there doing nothing.:)

I know the X Comp Carbon was a new model in 2019 that combined what I had been actively looking for in a mainstream, reasonably-priced hybrid - carbon frame, 1x drivetrain, front suspension, and accommodation for 38+ tires. Couldn't be happier with mine.

[QUOTE=GravelGurty;21108124]Did you upgrade the lever set? Finding these are my least favorite thing on the bike as it sits now. Torn between new brakes, or wheelset. Have the Hunts been as advertised, because they are really tempting at the price point?
Yes changed to Shimano BL-RS600 levers. Much better feel. The Hunts saved around half a kilo in total. Good value. |

Got a 2020 Sirrus X Comp, was riding an aluminium frame till now, amazing bike, really liked it. Got Deore XT pedals to go with it .
|
Hope you enjoy it! As mentioned before, take a look at the front brake tube rubbing on the headtube. It's a scuff area, I temporarily put some vinyl on it. Last weekend I removed that and applied helicopter tape in several areas of the bike, well worth the effort.
