My guess, you'd need new hubs with xD driver... which means re-lacing the wheels. Probably better off just buy a new wheelset with the proper hubs, since the stock wheels are nothing great. Personally, I don't see the appeal in dropping $1k or so on a wireless drivetrain for this bike. I had big plans for my x 5.0 and then I rode a diverge... now the Sirrus just sits in the garage.

Hey all,
I put a deposit down to hold a Sirrus x 5.0. I really like the bike and keep coming back to it after looking at the Trek, couple drop handles, etc. What brings me to it is I have a Sirrus Elite right now I find super comfortable and the simplicity of a 1x drivetrain. I like long rides. 50-70 miles. Will be doing a big 3 day ride thats is 250 miles in June. Does anyone do long distances with their Sirrus X? I play on bar end, and debating on a set of clip on aero bars or SG inner bar ends.

Everyone is different. I got Ergon GP3 grips which improved hand comfort tremendously. However after riding a diverge... I wouldn't go back to the Sirrus for long distance rides 30-40 mile plus. Personally I find the drop bar much more comfortable. The sirrus is a "fun" bike for me, around town and on trails for short rides.

i have a sirrus4 and to make it fast and to join a group ride with experienced bikers with all road bikes,i would like to see options of changing my sirrus4 existing 32c tires to 28 or 26c tires?
how sensible is it to conver the flatbar to drop bars.

Not sensible, converting to drop bars can set you back close to $1000. 28 or 26c tires aren't going to make you faster... reality is your speed/endurance is more YOU and your fitness.

I have now got the Ergon GP5 gripsand Specialized Bennies pedals, I just need to fit them.

I was looking at the Specialized Plug'n'Plays or thier Dry Tech fender/mudguards but both of them have terrible reviews on the Specialized website.

I was also looking for a rear rack so I could occassionally transport a crate. I have looked at botht the Specialized Pizza rack and the Elite. I see that Topeak do a rear rack/pannier sytem and also do a foldable/collapsable crate which can be removed. Does anybody know of any other manufacturers who do a system like this?

I have a Sirius 4. I bought a road bike to go with it.

How fast is your group and how is your fitness? I used to ride with and keep up with road bikers (average 18mph speed) on my Specialized Crosstrail.

Anyone running the Santa Cruz Reserve 22 700c with dt Swiss 350 hubs on their Sirrus X? Have a x 5.0 and a friend has a new set of reserve wheels and looking to unload to me since he’s going a different direction. What carbon wheels are most people running?

I am using Topeak fenders. I think they are the Defenders and they fit fine. I have had them on for a couple of years and were not difficult to install.

I also bought the Topeak Explorer rack but have not installed it yet. It looks pretty straightforward to install, and you do not need the disc version for your bike.

The Topeak Master Adaptarack comes only in disc version, but they do have other MTX-compatible rack models that are not specific for disc brakes which would work. The primary downside to disc racks are the lower legs are usually spaced pretty far out from the frame (to provide clearance for a seat stay-mounted disc caliper). If your caliper is down on the chain stay, you don't need the disc version of the rack (the non-disc versions are narrower and less bulky).

I have had these plug and play fenders since 2017, only took them off once for a short trip.

I'm seriously considering the Sirrus 6.0. Does anyone know what changes have been made since 2020? I've read though this entire thread, all 69 pages (LOL!) and wondering if it's still very similar to a roubaix, as compared in previous years. Thanks!

I have a Sirris 3.0 and can maintain 15-22 mph depending on the wind. I had to give up my dedicated road bike because of flexibility issues although I miss my drop bars at times other than that the Sirris is very close to a road back except the flat bar handle bar. Skinny tire width is a myth and an 80's thought process. There are countless studies on the web showing that a wider tire width does not slow you down in addition lower tire pressure actually makes you faster than maxed out pressure.

What size Sirrus?

I have a 2020 Sirrus 6.0 and looking at the specs of 2022 the only thing that seems to have changed are the paint colors (and the price!).

I'll be doing a multi state tour in a few months and have been debating what bike to use. I have a road bike but I'm leaning towards using my Specialized Sirrus Pro and making a few changes to it. After the tour is done, I'm planning to then use the Sirrus as the bike for mild gravel and sizing up the tires.

Has anyone else converted their hybrid like this? Bonus points if you've installed Velo Orange Crazy Bars. I'D love to hear your experience with them and see some pictures. Tips on wrapping them with bar tape would also be great.

The 2020 model year was a new line, so probably pretty early in the run for a refresh.

I happened to look at my LBS's website last night and to my amazement, they had a 2021 Specialized Sirrus 6. The bike is not even available on Specialized's website. My LBS has a sister store, about 25 miles away. They had the bike, so I decided to go for it. I am not an impulsive person. Buying the bike today has kind of taken me by surprise. I got it set up with my lights and adjusted the saddle height. I will take it out tomorrow morning and report back on my first ride.

First ride on my new Sirrus 6. It was exhilarating! The bike is so much lighter and nimble than the Giant Cypress and Escapes I have had. I also was able to ride close to two miles per hour faster. I am quite pleased.
