What type of pedals and shoes do you use with your hybrid?

Do you use regular pedals without clips? Mountain bike pedals, road bike pedals or duel? Pro's and Con's?
What type of shoes do you wear when riding your hybrid?

I use Shimano M324 which has one cleated side. They come with the multi directional cleats and are very easy to get out of when they are adjusted to the lowest setting. They work well with a Shimano M089 shoe either on the cleated side or the non-cleated side.

I also have Shimano A530 on the tandem. They are not quite as easy to get out of at the lowest setting but still pretty easy to get out of and they come in silver or black. I don't like to ride the non-cleat side of the A530 in my M089 shoes but they are good for non-cleated shoes with some grip (trainers) in dry conditions.

Serfas Trax shoes (LBS had a good deal on these)
and
Nashbar Soho pedals (one side for clipping in, platform on the other side)

I just switched to clipless two months ago. At first I didn't think they made a big difference. But a few weeks ago I went for a ride without them (just to compare) and was surprised at how much I noticed my feet jumping all over the place. In all fairness, the stock cage platform pedals were probably better for gripping sneakers compared to the platform side of these pedals. But even so, I can honestly say the clipless pedals have noticeably improved my riding, and I'm happy with the shoes and the pedals I have.

Shimano M780 pedals, and any normal, or SPD shoes I want to wear.

I find them more comfortable than the M324 in thin sole shoes, and better than the A530 in every way.

I have Liv sport pedals on my bike LIV Sport Pedals 9/16" Axle (Pedals) - Bike Gear | Giant Bicycles | United States. I think Wellgo makes similar pedals. I like them but I probably wouldn't recommend them for anyone with feet larger than my women's US size 6 shoes. They are small. I was wearing trail running shoes but yesterday got a pair of closeout Five Ten Spitfires. Only tried them out on a short ride this morning, and I like them much better. Much better grip on the pedals. I'll probably be wearing them off bike often too. They are a men's (boys) size 4.5 for size comparison. I'll wear sandals too if I'm riding on the beach.

I get numbness in my left toes (the right is fine), but I don't think it's a shoe/pedal issue. Happened with the stock pedals too. Still trying to figure out why and how to fix.

Mks lambda/grip kings with sneakers. Love being able to move my feet around. Much more comfortable to me than clipping in. I clipped in for years and will never go back.

What one would expect from the average MTB platform pedal without pins. Much better than the Shimano A530, not as good as an aggressive bear trap. I have no trouble when wearing LL Bean Maine hunting shoes in the wet.

My editor is acting up tonight but I edit my Post #3 to indicate the A530 works with an old school tennis shoe (trainer) when dry. It is surprising slick when wet or with a hard soled shoe. I like the shape but I can never get comfortable on the non-cleat side even though my cleat just barely peeks out below my tread.

I have Shimano M530's and Mountain bike shoes. Clipless have quickly become my favorite.

I also have DMR v8 platforms, heavy but nice for the shorter trips or certain rides that I don't want to be tied to the bike.

After struggling with shimano dual pedals for months, they were rarely in the right orientation, I swithed to Race Face Aeffect platforms with the smaller pins and have been a happy camper. Even when they worked well, clipless never fit my style. I get more speed and power from my engine with platfoms along with more maneuverability. Work great for mixed use as they don't really have a downside besides scratched shins.. which I think is is better than nursing sprained thumbs .

Currently I run 'Cages' on my Crosstrail Pro so I can commute to work (13 miles) in my vans skate shoes and then roll right into the office. However, I just installed some Shimano SPD clips on my Stumpjumper and have matching SPD shoes so I may get a second set of SPD clips and install them on my Crosstrail.

Just changed back to Shimano SPD-SL with Specialized Body Geometry shoes.
For short rides, Shimano Saints.

My favorite pedal so far is the Redline low profile BMX style with pins. That way, it doesn't matter what shoes I'm wearing. The pedals work with all the shoes I wear when biking- sport sandals, sneakers, or hiking boots.

I use Wellgo platform pedals and wear sneakers. The pedals are "bear trap" type; they mesh pretty well with the sneakers. I believe that they're 964 type.
