Need help from experts in selecting hybrid
Hi Friends,
I am Diwakar from India and I own a BTWIN rockrider 300 and I do 50-70 KMs on that. I plan to increase the range and want to buy a hybrid bike and push myself to 150-200 in next 2-3 months.
As much as I understand, My requirements match a good hybrid bike and after basic study, I have shortlisted Trek 7.2, Giant Roam 3 and Cannondale Quick 5.
Please suggest which one should I get. The sales guy is pushing me for Giant because of front suspension. I would mostly be on Tarmac and roads here are good but not great! I have tried Trek and will try rest of the two soon.
Hoping to hear from you guys.
Thanks in anticipation!!

I'm no expert , so my opinion is pretty specific to my physical needs and local road conditions.
I was looking at the trek 7.2 and allant , the Giant escape 2 , jamis Coda sport , and Jamis allegro.
My local dealer (Giant and Jamis) recommended the Roam 2 or 3 for my riding style.
I'm older , pinched nerves , back problems , the usual old guy stuff.
My riding and road conditions can be pretty rough and the asphalt can be very coarse and potholed.
There are very few truly flat roads in my area.
I rode the roam 2 and 3 , I liked the 2 better , disk brakes , $200.00 US more money , bought the 3 because of finances.
If I liked the Trek dealer more , I might have gone with a Trek DS model knowing what I now know.
I love the Roam 3 , I feel that the handlebar vibration is lessened with the suspension forks.
This is more comfortable for my wrists and hands , vibration is more tolerable.
Because of the suspension forks , the steering head is generally higher which puts the bars slightly higher than some similar bikes.
The Roam is also easily fitted with fenders which I will need soon , dirty roads and trails are my reasoning.
The local Cannondale dealer mentioned the quick bikes are more upright and relaxed also compared to some.
All are good bikes , my choice was for durability and comfort for my road condidtions and riding style.
Ride a few and you'll feel the difference , you will know which one when you ride it.
