However I will give this handlebar a go, it has no riser though, so a pure flat bar.

I went all the way down to 580mm and it feels fine but I have my seat fairly high and back so it's not as upright position as you may ride.

After getting use to the 700mm handlebar of the Toughroad and even allowing for me effectively using my handlebars as a 680mm, due to pushing in the grips, 580mm sounds unimaginably short for me these days.

Plus I find I need a decent amount of room for my light mount and computer mount and bell.

I think my long term handlebar will end up being a 660mm Jones H-Bar Loop.

Most all road racers have short bars, and probably all MTB bikes from the 90's back did as well. I know because I have several lol. Wide bars were obviously introduced for better control on singletrack but now it has become a fad, a fashion that has spread to our hybrid road roadies.
